The work and calling of Joseph was to bring forth the sons of God according to the Fruitfulness Mandate that was first given in Genesis 1:28, “Be fruitful and multiply.” If Adam and Eve had brought forth children before they sinned, their children would have fulfilled this Mandate.
The law of biogenesis says that like begets like. Their children would have been what was later called “the sons of God,” immortal, incorruptible, and perfect in every way. Unfortunately, their children were all conceived through seed that had been corrupted by the original sin. Therefore, in order for those born naturally to become sons of God, we are required to experience a second conception by the incorruptible seed of the word.
No one who is begotten by natural seed are yet sons of God, at least not in the sense that would fulfill the Fruitfulness Mandate.
The Dominion Mandate of Genesis 1:26 and the Fruitfulness Mandate of Genesis 1:28 together formed the Birthright. The Dominion Mandate itself was subdivided further into two parts: civil and religious, forming both kings and priests.
Legal Unity in Division
When Jacob blessed his sons in Genesis 49, he divided the Birthright into three main parts. The Dominion Mandate was divided between Judah and Levi; the Fruitfulness Mandate was given to Joseph—specifically to Ephraim. As long as the tribes were united, they could all benefit from the blessings of the other tribes.
This was according to the law of unity, first seen in Genesis 2:24, where Adam and Eve were said to be “one flesh.” This was a principle of law, not of biology, for they remained biologically distinct. Those who are in unity and agreement with Christ enjoy the same legal status as part of the body of Christ.
Christ’s first coming reunited the Dominion Mandate, for He came of the tribe of Judah through the house of David to claim His right to rule the earth. But David was also a Melchizedek priest (Psalm 110:4). That priestly order had no genealogical requirements as did the Levitical order. Hence, both David and Christ were King-Priests, uniting the Dominion Mandate under one head.
The remaining portion of the original Birthright was the Fruitfulness Mandate, the calling to bring forth the sons of God. Christ must come a second time in order to fully claim the calling of Joseph. That is why He must come with His robe dipped in blood (Revelation 19:13; Genesis 37:31). The blood on His robe identifies Him with Joseph and shows us the main underlying purpose of His second coming.
No one can become one of the sons of God without being in unity with the Messiah ben Joseph. Anyone who looks for another messiah is yet disqualified from biblical Sonship by the law of unity. John 1:11-13 says,
11 He came to His own [tribe, biological relatives], and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born [begotten], not of blood [bloodline] nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
John tells us that those who believe in Christ, those begotten by the spiritual seed of the word, have the right to become children of God. No one else has this right. One must believe first that Jesus came the first time with the legitimate right to hold the Dominion Mandate. This “faith” in who He is qualifies us as the children of God.
Even so, faith is always tested and purified in the crucible to prove its quality. This is the purpose of the Pentecostal Age that separates the two comings of Christ. In our time, the Sonship issue has arisen as we prepare for the second coming of Christ (as “Joseph”) to see who is qualified to receive the Sonship. All believers have the right to become sons of God, but only the overcomers will actually qualify to receive it at this time.
Having done the work of Judah, who was pictured as a crouching (dead) lion being roused from the dead (Genesis 49:9), Christ finished that work on the cross (John 19:30). The second work, however, has now emerged more fully as we prepare for His second coming. People are now given a second requirement of faith that goes beyond the first requirement.
The second requirement is to believe in Christ insofar as His second work is concerned. Believers are now being separated into two categories. How many of them believe that Christ is the Messiah ben Joseph in His second coming? How many know the purpose of the second coming? How many believers have a functional knowledge of the Sonship message?
The Struggle for the Birthright
God has tested this generation of believers to see who will support Christ’s rightful claim to the Birthright of Joseph. The dispute between Jacob and Esau has come full circle in our generation. Some support Jacob; others support Esau’s claim. The Israeli state is actually the state of Esau-Edom pretending to be Jacob-Israel, as I showed in my book, The Struggle for the Birthright.
Because Jacob stole Esau’s identity in Genesis 27:16-18, a reverse pattern had to occur as God judged the situation. Because the Edomites were conquered and absorbed into Jewry in 126 B.C., Jewry thereafter had two prophetic roles to fulfill: Judah and Edom. In 1948 Jacob gave the Birthright back to Esau after Esau stole Jacob’s identity. Hence, the state was called Israel, the Birthright name.
This is a long story, of course, which I fully developed in my book (above). The point is that because of Isaac’s blindness, he was able to be fooled by this identity theft. So it is again in the Church today. While God ruled in Esau’s favor in 1948, the ultimate promise is that “the older shall serve the younger” (Genesis 25:23). Hence, Esau’s possession of the Birthright is only temporary.
This situation, however, has provided the main testing ground to see whose claim the Church will support in this matter of Sonship. In other words, will non-believing Jews rule the world as the sons of God, or will the overcomers rule the world with Christ (Joseph)? Do we support Christ’s claim to the Birthright of Joseph, or do we support the Jewish claim, which seeks another messiah and continues to reject Jesus Christ?
The main faith requirement has changed as Christ’s role has changed from Judah to Joseph. In times past, the requirement was to believe that Jesus Christ died for the sin of the world and was raised for our justification, and that He ascended to the right hand of the Father. Today, to be an overcomer, one must go beyond this and believe that Christ is the inheritor of the Birthright of Joseph.
Frankly, most believers (unknowingly) support the Edomite faction in this. Like Isaac, they are blind, because they never studied what the word of God teaches about the history of Esau. They are unfamiliar with the two main parts of the Birthright and how each contributes to the divine plan. Popular modern eschatology, focusing on “the rapture,” teaches little or nothing about the fulfillment of the feast days, and its focus on the Jewish state of Edom causes them to support those who oppose Jesus Christ’s claim to the throne and His Sonship rights.
The Rising Sons of God
During the past century, the forces opposing Christ and the rising house of Joseph fomented two world wars in order to kill as many people as possible. This was an early attempt to kill the Manchild before he could be born. The spirit behind this was pictured in Revelation 12 as the red dragon. It was the same spirit that motivated Pharaoh and Herod.
Communism was introduced to the Soviet Union, China, and other places. Under such ungodly rule, a hundred million people were killed, and Christianity was suppressed.
The wars and political “purges” proved to be insufficient to reduce the world’s population to the desired 500 million (as shown on the Georgia Guidestones), so they legalized abortions in 1973. This Supreme Court ruling has killed over 80 million babies in the womb. Scripture shows us the spirit behind this mass murder and that it is an attempt to kill potential sons of God.
Herod did indeed kill the children of Bethlehem, but he was unable to kill the Son of God. Joseph and Mary took Jesus to Egypt for His protection when He was three months old. Moses was a type of Christ (Deuteronomy 18:15; Acts 7:37). So we find that Moses, too, was brought into the house of Pharaoh for His protection at the age of three months (Exodus 2:2, 3).
God is sovereign, and the opposition can only succeed in delaying the plan of God to the appointed time. In other words, opposition seems to thwart or delay God’s plan, but to those who have eyes to see, God uses all opposition to prevent His own plan from coming to pass too soon.
The divine plan cannot be stopped in spite of the mass murder of potential sons of God. The conflict is there to separate believers from unbelievers and believers from the overcomers. This is the context of the rise of the house of Joseph. The Sonship message will go forth, though few have much understanding of the divine plan.
In 1948 the Latter Rain Movement received a revelation of Sonship, Church Government, the feast of Tabernacles, and then split apart over the revelation of the restoration of all things. There were good and gifted people on both sides, of course, but the movement could not remain unified. In my view, it is because 1948 marked the start of the great test of faith to see who had eyes to see and who were blind like Isaac.
From 1948 to the present time, God has given us a time to prepare and to learn the mind of God insofar as the Joseph work is concerned. It is possible that this preparation time will prove also to be a 76-year time of cleansing (1948-2024). Only time will tell.
Regardless of what other men say or do, my focus, calling, and desire is to promote Jesus and His right to rule the earth as Messiah ben Joseph. My desire is to promote His plan for the salvation of the world and the restoration of all things. My desire is to see the word of God fulfilled, “for He has put all things in subjection under His feet” (1 Corinthians 15:27).
The work of pouring out the seven bowls of wine and water from 2000-2006 were designed to unseat the Babylonians and to replace them with the house of Joseph (with Christ as its Head). All of this was done a decade before Babylon’s authority actually ended in 2017.
There is so much work to be done that we cannot do it all at the last hour, so God spreads out the work over a long period of time. He can easily do that, because spiritual work is done in a timeless realm, so it is as if all the work we do is compressed into a single moment. In fact, because of this timeless principle, people from every age in the past have been able to participate in the same work, so that when the fullness of time arrives, all the work can be gathered together as a single work, which then emerges into the earthly realm at the appointed time.
