A few weeks ago, Antifa tried to create its own autonomous zone on the mountain overlooking downtown Seattle, known as Capital Hill. At first they called it CHAZ (Capital Hill Autonomous Zone) and later changed the name to CHOP (Capital Hill Organized Protest). They put up barriers around a 6-block area in the middle of a liberal gay-community, hoping that they could spark a national movement.
However, it did not go so well for them. On the second day they were already running out of food and were appealing for donations. Sounds like Socialism to me. Socialism is where everyone wants a handout and no one wants to work. That is why Socialism leads to slavery, because the only way to produce anything is to force people to work. Of course, the leaders call this “guaranteed employment.”
Then two people were shot in the CHOP zone, one of them killed. He was 19 years old, and the CHOP protesters hindered the police and paramedics from reaching him in time to save his life. Police had to come from a distance, because the police precinct had been destroyed by the rioters.
The death of 19-year-old Horace Anderson was made worse by the fact that his father was not allowed to see the body of his son for about a week. The mayor of Seattle, who has glorified CHOP as a “summer of love,” did not reach out to Mr. Anderson to offer any explanation or condolence or apology. But the mayor finally felt the pressure and has begun to move toward dismantling CHOP.

The mayor of Seattle, who has encouraged the protesters and has refused to call them rioters, suddenly changed her tune when they came to her house and vandalized it in revenge for tearing down the CHOP zone. Now she belatedly calls it “domestic terrorism,” and says that it is “unfair.” After all, she supported them for three weeks, and now they have turned against her.
Many politicians seem to suffer from mental illness caused by a lack of common sense. In her attempt to side with these rioters, she alienated most of the people in Seattle who have felt threatened by Antifa. Now she has managed to alienate Antifa and BLM as well. What are her chances of getting reelected?
Better yet, what are her chances of staying out of prison for treason and sedition?
