“What is that light?” Paul asked, intently peering at my face.
“What are you talking about?” I responded with a puzzled look.
“I see a quiet glow coming from your face, not quite visible, but not entirely invisible either.”
I turned to my wife, who confirmed Paul’s insight. “I’m not sure what is happening,” I said, “but I know that God is light, and in Him is no darkness whatsoever.”
“It is His presence, then,” Sipporah stated. “But why is it becoming visible? In fact, the light seems to be getting brighter.” She paused for a moment. “Now I am feeling a tingling sensation, as if every cell—no, every atom!—is awakening. What is happening to me?”
At that instant, Sipporah and I disappeared in a flash of light. We instantly found ourselves back on Revelation Mountain, standing upon the flat rock of meditation overlooking the gaping crack in the side of the mountain. The river of life still flowed freely out of the heart of the mountain to the valley below. The sun was friendly and joyous. A great host of colorful flowers had sprung up, made alive by the light and watered by life, turning the entire area into a paradise.
Two pillars of light also stood upon the flowing river. At first they were too bright to look upon, but in a short time our eyes began to adjust to the light, and the pillars soon took the form of men. I looked at my wife and saw that her face was glowing brighter and brighter with each passing moment. She looked back at me and said, “Your face is getting brighter.”
As the light in our faces intensified, it became easier to look at the two light beings standing quietly in front of us. Finally breaking the thick silence, I asked, “Who are you?”
“Do you not recognize me?” the one on the right side responded.
“I recognize your voice,” I responded, “but not your face. If I am not mistaken, you first came to me many years ago and spoke to me, but at that time I could not see your face.”
“You had not sufficiently absorbed my light at that time,” he informed me.
“You are Peniel,” I said, “the face and presence of God. It is good to see you face to face. I have felt your presence for a long time. I know that you are my angel, the word sent from the mouth of the Creator and given form by His imagination. You are the revelation of His presence, an extension and personification of the Great Spirit.”
“Yes, my presence has increased within you, even as the light was within others before you. More will follow, for I bring the presence of the Creator to the earth,” Peniel said. “But veils are yet necessary to hide my face while men’s hearts are being prepared. As you can see, the light is too much for darkened hearts to bear. The veil that I wear is actually three veils in one, and as each is removed, my face appears brighter and clearer.”
He continued, “When you were transported here, I removed the third veil from your face, so that I might speak to you again—this time, face to face as a friend. When you return to the darkened world, you must cover your face with the veil again, or men would be afraid to talk with you. How, then, would they hear the word and overcome their fear of me?”
“Yes, I understand,” I responded. “It takes men time to adjust to the light. As men learn to love, fear is overcome, and the veils are lifted one by one. In the natural world, men fear darkness, but in the spiritual world, men of darkness fear the light.”
“Very true,” said Peniel, “The key is to understand and assimilate the new covenant, for it alone can remove these veils. As men gain understanding of the new covenant, their fear of drawing near to the Creator will be overcome. As each veil is removed, they will receive greater light from my presence. When they come fully into agreement with the Creator, then they too will see me face to face.”
He paused for a moment and said. “The first covenant gave men light so that they could search for their Creator. The second covenant gave light so that the Creator could find all that were lost. Light was not created for men to find Him. The purpose of light is for the Creator to find men. The light exists because the Creator seeks to be known. The light itself has life, and it searches the darkness until it finds all of His children. No child shall be left behind.”
My wife and I both understood clearly, for we were aware that He had found us long ago and that we love Him because He first loved us. Though it took us many years to comprehend the power of His will and purpose in the earth, He had remained ever true to Himself. He is love, and therefore He is unsatisfied until all enemies are reconciled to Himself.
The second glorified being then stepped forward and spoke. “I am Harpazo. I transported both of you here to the mountain.”
“You are my angel!” Sipporah exclaimed. “I have known your name for many years, but I always wondered what you looked like. You are the Angel of Divine Transportation.”
“Yes, dear one,” he said with a loving smile. “The word that is in me is what you have become. My presence in you has brought both of you here, for the two of you are one, as it was meant to be from the beginning of time.”
We stood transfixed by the awesome presence of the angelic duo, coming face to face with the living words of the Creator standing before us, each being unique and yet functioning as a single spiritual unit. We remembered that on a greater level we were united with a great company from past generations, many from the present, and even more who were yet to be begotten. Through the Law of Unity, each person’s angel is shared equally with all who are part of the same body. It is our responsibility to become the unique word of our angels, so that we might share the words of truth which express their essence and character.
The two angels then drew closer to us, and we both stretched out our arms to welcome them. We each embraced our angel and absorbed them in an explosion of unity. Our bodies, as mountains, burned and glowed with divine fire. Then all was quiet, and a veil was laid over us, a veil of earthly flesh that again hid the glory within.
“The time has come,” I stated after some deliberation, “for us to return to the dark world of mortal men, so that we may be the voice of the Creator. It is not fit that we should enjoy the presence of light while others remain in darkness. Our flesh has again been veiled, so that we may walk among those who have not yet come to the mountain and who have not yet seen His light. I pray that all men will hear the word of the new covenant, so that veils will no longer be necessary. As each veil is removed from their hearts, they too will begin to see a glowing light from the crack. We are now the mountain of God, and we hold this treasure of light in earthen vessels that men do not fear.”
“Nonetheless,” Sipporah replied, “whether they know us or not, we know who we are. We are new creatures, no longer descended from Earthyman, but begotten by our Heavenly Father. Our identity is in the body of light that has now been brought fully to birth.”
We turned and walked hand in hand down the mountain, confident of our purpose in life and ready to share our light with all who have eyes to see.
The End.
