On June 26, 2015 the U.S. Supreme Court legalized gay marriage in America. On that day, America became the biblical equivalent to Sodom and Gomorrah, which had done the same in the days of Abraham and Lot.
WASHINGTON, June 26 (Reuters) - The Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the U.S. Constitution provides same-sex couples the right to marry, handing a historic triumph to the American gay rights movement.
The court ruled 5-4 that the Constitution's guarantees of due process and equal protection under the law mean that states cannot ban same-sex marriages. With the landmark ruling, gay marriage becomes legal in all 50 states….
President Barack Obama, appearing in the White House Rose Garden, hailed the ruling as a milestone in American justice that arrived "like a thunderbolt."
"This ruling is a victory for America," said Obama, the first sitting president to support gay marriage. "This decision affirms what millions of Americans already believe in their hearts. When all Americans are treated as equal, we are all more free."
For about two decades, I had been wondering when we would come to this point in history. America is directly linked to ancient Israel, as most of you know, by the 2,520-year “seven times” cycle. America was founded in 1776, precisely 2,520 years after Assyria began to deport the first tribes of Israel in 745 B.C. America’s capital, Washington D.C., was built in 1800, which was 2,520 years after the fall of Samaria, Israel’s capital, in 721 B.C.
In other words, America represents the reformation of Israel after the “lost tribes” were exiled and scattered by the Assyrians. That is why, I believe, America began with 13 colonies, which correlate with the 13 tribes of Israel (including Levi). On an earthly, fleshly, and prophetic level, America is the leader of God’s true Israel in the world today. Prominent preachers such as Timothy Dwight (president of Yale from 1795-1817) proclaimed America to be the fifth kingdom (the stone kingdom) prophesied in Daniel 2:34, 35.
I believe he was correct and that America had an important calling, a vital role to play, in the overthrow of the four beast empires. Yet in spite of all the optimism in the late 1700’s, in spite of producing the most important and radical documents of Liberty since the days of Moses, America was still founded during the time of the beast empires, whose rule would not end until 2017 and beyond. Hence, it was not yet time for the coming of Christ.
America’s calling would be delayed to the time of the end, where we today are tasked with this calling. We must complete what was begun in 1776-1800.
Meanwhile, because of America’s imperfections, the nation has degenerated and has finally led the world into immorality and lawlessness, biblically speaking. Our task, then, is daunting, but fortunately, we do not have to rely upon the arm of flesh. We are called to come into agreement with the word of God, which means that we also oppose the immoral decrees of government.
Isaiah Prophesies of America
Isaiah is the prophet of universal salvation. His prophecies begin with a lament for Israel on account of its immorality—the same condition seen in America today. Isaiah 1:2-9 says,
2 Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth; for the Lord speaks, “Sons I have reared and brought up, but they have revolted against Me. 3 An ox knows its owner, and a donkey its master’s manger, but Israel does not know, My people do not understand. 4 Alas, sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, sons who act corruptly!... 9 Unless the Lord of hosts had left us a few survivors [an overcoming remnant], we would be like Sodom and we would be like Gomorrah. 10 Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom; give ear to the instruction of our God, you people of Gomorrah.”
Here the prophet renames Israel according to their deeds, calling them Sodom and Gomorrah. For this reason, God raised up the Assyrians to destroy the nation and to exile the people to “Halah and Habor, on the river Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes” (2 Kings 16:6).
Under President Obama, America too became Sodom and Gomorrah in 2015, just before the end of Babylon’s allotted time to rule the earth. The legalization of gay marriage can be seen as the pinnacle of Babylonian immorality, described in Revelation 18:2, 3,
2 And he [the angel] cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality.”
As for us, “the remnant” (as Isaiah calls us), we are called to come into agreement with God, rather than men. The remnant hears the voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues” (Revelation 18:4). We follow a different path from the average citizen of Sodom. Just as “righteous Lot” (2 Peter 2:7) was led to come out of her (i.e., Sodom), so also are we led to come out of Babylon.
I should also make a distinction between being gay and practicing it. There are cases where one cannot help being gay. The law of God regulates behavior and sets the standard according to God’s order; but the law cannot change one’s nature. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. Even gay people can be in agreement with God’s nature (law) and thus be part of the overcoming remnant. It is the same with all of us who are called to crucify the flesh (old man). All of us are called to disagree with the “old man” and its fleshly desires. We can be part of this remnant without yet being perfected in our nature. Agreement is the key.
The Cry of Sodom Prayer Campaign
On June 30, 2015 we were led to hold a prayer campaign called The Cry of Sodom, based on the angel’s word to Lot in Genesis 19:13,
13 for we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great before the Lord that the Lord has sent us to destroy it.
In other words, the destruction of Sodom came about because the people of the city had appealed to the Divine Court for justice. The problem was that those who had appealed to God were also spiritually deaf and so they did not “come out of her” when Lot left Sodom. Hence, they died in the conflagration along with the wicked. The accusers died with the accused. People need to be careful how they appeal to the Divine Court. Be sure to know the decision of the Judge so that you know what course of action you should take.
Now that the Supreme Court has issued its ruling, all Americans are living in Sodom, whether they like it or not. We do not like living in Sodom, but living here does give us certain rights. We have the right to appeal to the Divine Court, even as the people of Sodom did in their time. This is why we were led to appeal to the Divine Court in The Cry of Sodom prayer campaign.
The main difference is that our appeal was for God to send the baptism of fire (Holy Spirit) to consume the flesh and to change the hearts of the people (Matthew 3:11, 12). We cannot leave Sodom, because there is no place to go where Sodom/Babylon has no control. For us, leaving the city means being in agreement with God as citizens of the Kingdom. Our loyalty is to Jesus Christ, not the governments of men.
As saints preparing to rule, we are more than mere citizens of the Kingdom. We are preparing our hearts as overcomers, i.e., “the remnant.” This remnant takes the lead so that the citizens may know what to do and how to be led by the Spirit.
The Prayer
Our prayer was as follows:
Our Heavenly Father, we come before your divine court in the name of Jesus and under His blood. Thank-you for the privilege of coming before You with confidence, so that we may ask according to Your will, and knowing that we will receive all that we ask.
We appeal to You as those living in Sodom and Gomorrah, for we are the ones prophesied by Isaiah. We ask that you would send your baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire that John the Baptist prophesied according to Your will. We pray that You would cleanse our hearts personally and cleanse our nation itself. Remove the chaff from us and from our nation.
We ask that You render a verdict according to Your New Covenant oaths, by which You promised to make us Your people and to be our God. Deal with us not according to our folly, but according to Your great mercy and love.
Remove also all hindrances that might prevent or delay the outpouring of Your Spirit.
Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
Thank-you, Heavenly Father, for hearing our prayer and petition. Thank-you for answering according to Your perfect will.
Amen.
