Hey everyone!
A lot of internal discussion, design, and development has been going on with regard to the Bible School (BBIBI), and we wanted to update all of you with the current state of everything, and the plans going forward.
BBIBI (Burning Bush International Bible Institute) has undergone many iterations over several years. There have been "versions" of the school that have been released over the years, all of which eventually were taken down because it didn't match the true vision for the school, or something would come up that would not allow it to continue to be maintained.
Over the years all of us have been continually praying that God would give us the vision for the school and guide us in our development of it, and we continue to do so. As of this year, we believe we have finally been given direction on how best to start.
Realistic Expectations
Throughout our planning for the Bible School, one of the biggest obstacles we kept running into was being able to properly handle the possible volume of students. Ultimately in the long term, we have discussed having teachers that teach students in groups at a time, but at this time this presents far too many complications, primarily due to the fact that we just don't have enough people to facilitate this.
That being said, for the time being, we are implementing a self-paced learning model, with school facilitators "grading" answers that are submitted. Basically, any prospective students are given the school curriculum, which they will read at their own pace, and then they will answer the quiz questions for a module, which will be in an essay format where the student provides a free-form answer rather than multiple choice, at which point it will be submitted to a school facilitator who will be able to mark the answer as correct or incorrect, and the student will be able to submit a follow-up answer if their first one was incorrect.
Students will be able to create a student account on the BBIBI website, which will track all of their progress through the school, and guide them through modules one at a time. This takes a lot of pressure off of the need for school facilitators to tend to each student for every step of their journey through the school, allowing them to only grade quiz answers, and even with this model it still puts a lot of work on facilitators depending on how many students we get. All of this is being taken into account for how we are building the school.
Plans Going Forward
As it stands now, we are working very closely with our current school facilitators to ensure that the vision of the school is beneficial to any prospective students, and is something that can be handled.
We have already begun building the school. The entirety of the school is being built custom, from the ground up, which will take time, but it will be worth the effort.
The school curriculum has already been assembled as far as the modules, and the books within those modules, but we are still deep in the thick of creating quiz questions for the books, which will also take time.
We're wary to release any estimates of how much time this will take because of how many times this has happened in the past, and then something would happen that would push the estimate way back, or derail it entirely.
Since this is all self-paced, if you plan on joining as a student in the school when it's released, the best thing you can do now is read through all of the material as outlined on the Bible School page, located under the Studies menu item. Note that any supplemental material is not a part of the actual curriculum, but it is helpful if you want to dive deeper with your study. There will not be quiz questions for supplemental material.
We just want you all to know that the school is actively in development, and has not been forgotten about. We're sorry for how many times it's seemed like it was almost finished, only to find that it wasn't even close, but we're all trusting that God has had a reason for this every time, and we know that once it's finished we'll see the purpose for His timing, as always.
Thank you all for your patience in this. No matter what, we only want to build exactly what God wants built, and we'll keep working toward it.
Blessings,
GKM Admin Team
