On July 18, 1996 my wife and I first began to encounter the spirit of python who had attacked Margaret, the “Pearl of Great Price.” From July 19-21 we went to the Snake River to come against the serpent-dragon at the north end of Hells Gate Canyon. A year later the Dragon War began, and we soon learned that it would be won after three rounds in 1997, 1998, and 1999.
Having declared the Jubilee on September 23, 1996, we were fully equipped to engage in these spiritual battles.
The New Covenant
When President Bill Clinton won the election for a second term in November 1996, he later gave his inaugural address entitled, The New Covenant. Though he had little knowledge of the biblical New Covenant, nonetheless, God caused him to prophesy of things to come according to the heart of David.
This was much like Caiaphas had prophesied about Christ’s death on behalf of the nation in John 11:49-52,
49 But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, 50 nor do you take into account that it is expedient for you that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.” 51 Now he did not say this on his own initiative, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation, 52 and not for the nation only, but in order that He might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.
Caiaphas, of course, did not understand his own prophecy, nor did he even know that God had caused him to prophesy. He applied the word in his own carnal way, but God gave it a different meaning.
So also was Bill Clinton’s New Covenant prophecy. Though he meant it in a carnal way, God caused him to prophesy that the New Covenant was coming, now that the Jubilee had been declared a few months earlier. Whereas Caiaphas prophesied at the time of Christ’s first work, Bill Clinton prophesied of Christ’s second work.
One might argue that the New Covenant was established at the cross, not in 1996. That is true, but the church soon lost its New Covenant understanding, in spite of Paul’s clear teaching. In later centuries the church was structured according to the principles of the Old Covenant, and the popes put the people into spiritual bondage of the hierarchy.
Hence, the church as a whole became spiritual “Hagar,” the bondwoman in Galatians 4:25, much like the Jews had done earlier in the earthly Jerusalem. Israel had been called to be a light on a hill and a light to the Gentiles. They were called to bring righteousness to the earth by the power of the Holy Spirit. But they failed to do so because the Old Covenant could not succeed in saving anyone. By rejecting the laws and ways of God, they ended in failure and exile when God cast them out (Galatians 4:30).
God then poured out His Spirit on the day of Pentecost, which gave the disciples an increased anointing for the Pentecost Age. But the church under Pentecost again failed to bring righteousness to the earth. Church leaders thought that they had to accumulate more wealth and claim more power over the nations in order to fulfill their calling. But that mindset could never succeed in bringing righteousness. It only increased the power of the church to put the people into further bondage.
Another way to look at it is by comparing the church with Saul, rather than David.
But the death of the Saul church in 1993, followed by the Jubilee Prayer Campaign and later the declaration of the Jubilee in 1996, brought about a fundamental change in the course of Kingdom history. The house of Saul lost its authority to determine the future of the church and the world as a whole. The house of David received an increasing level of authority to determine the course of history through their decrees and enforcement by spiritual warfare.
Hence, the overcomers, represented by the house of David and the house of Joseph, have been given the authority to bring righteousness to the earth. The house of David brings the Scepter and unites it with the Birthright of the house of Joseph. The repair of this breach, along with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, is what makes it possible to establish Kingdom government and to implement it by the power of the New Covenant.
The Dragon War, Round One (1997)
On June 19, 1997 Michele made a “tourist” trip to China with a group of 18 Christian women. It was actually a time of spiritual warfare. China is known as the land of the dragon. They arrived in Hong Kong June 21, and after touring cities in China, they returned to Hong Kong on the 28th. During their tour, 5 out of 6 of their tour guides were led to Christ.
They stayed long enough to watch the ceremonies where Hong Kong was officially being returned to China on July 1, 1997. Prince Charles presided over this ceremony. His flag is the only flag in the world with a “griffin” (red dragon) on it. Hong Kong has long been called “The Pearl of the Orient.” Mythology says that the dragon came from the sea, and that in order to maintain itself on land, it must eat pearls. Thus, in the fireworks celebration over the harbor, the fireworks depicted a dragon coming up out of the water and swallowing up the old Hong Kong flag—i.e., the Pearl of the Orient.
I discerned that the Chinese were inadvertently prophesying of the Dragon Wars that had begun in 1996. In July of 1996 the attack had been against Margaret Price (the type of the “Pearl” of Great “Price”). In July 1997 this theme was continuing with the dragon swallowing Hong Kong, the Pearl of the Orient. Yet keep in mind that the red dragon was not China, but the insignia of the British monarchy. It took Hong Kong in the 1800’s to defend its opium-smuggling merchants.
In the Hong Kong hotel room on July 1st, the 18 American women noticed across the ravine was the Ten Thousand Buddha temple and felt that they needed to do something about it. A few of them then went to the front gate and prayed for the overthrow of the idols there. There were two stone lions at the gate. Michele's report reads:
“Tammy…prophesied the lions were hungry and the Buddhas were coming down. We commanded them to bow their knee to Jesus.”
“It is raining VERY hard and has all night…During the night there had been a mudslide. On our side of the mountain it broke water pipes; on the Buddhist side, we would learn later, part of a retaining wall gave way under the room a lot of the idols were kept in, and they fell out into the mud!”
Significantly, these Buddha statues bowed the knee to Jesus Christ that night.
The Tyson-Holyfield Fight
While all this was going on in Hong Kong, another prophetic event (showdown) was developing in America. It was the June 28 boxing match between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. Tyson was a convert to Islam and had put a tattoo of Mao Zedung on his right shoulder (connecting him to China).
Holyfield was a devout Christian. Because “the field is the world” (Matthew 13:38), he represented the “Holy World,” which I took as a reference to Kingdom of God (the Stone Kingdom of Daniel) being established in the earth. This fight also told us who was going to win this battle—as if we really needed more confirmation!
In a report written by David Demian and Marc Bisebois, we read,
“Holyfield prepared himself not only physically, but spiritually. In his dressing room before the fight, he prayed and praised. Surrounded by Christian praise music, he made it his aim to enter the ring with the presence of God.”
When Tyson came into the arena, he came with rap music blaring. Holyfield made his entrance to: “When the Spirit of the Lord comes upon my heart, I will dance as David danced.” Holyfield won the first two rounds, but in the third round, Tyson spit out his mouthpiece and bit a half inch of flesh from Holyfield's ear. The referee gave him a warning, but Tyson did it again, and so he was disqualified.
Holyfield won by disqualification in the third round, and this told us that we would see “three rounds” in the Dragon War. Round one would be fought in 1997, round two in 1998, and round three in 1999.
The Tyson-Holyfield fight was just a sign of the Dragon War yet to come a few weeks later. In August of 1997 my wife and I were led to drive south to confront the red dragon and to put up a boundary from Padre Island to the Florida Keys. The dragons often manifested as hurricanes, and so this prevented hurricanes from entering the nation for a full year, as I will show later.
It is also significant that my wife and I were remarried in a New Covenant ceremony at a park in Victoria, TX. Bill Clinton’s New Covenant prophecy was thus fulfilled in us, and this also established the New Covenant as the foundation of victory in the Dragon War.
