Our conference in Branson, Missouri (September 7-9) was really a conference celebrating the feast of Trumpets, rather than Tabernacles. The feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hoshana) began the evening of September 9 at the close of the conference. So we are now in a new year, biblically speaking, and that we should expect to see God begin to do new things shortly.
There were more than 180 people who registered at the door of the conference room, with a few more who did not register. So it was well attended. As usual, there was not enough time to visit with everyone, though I felt like I had fellowshipped non-stop every day. Conferences are good opportunities to see friends a couple of times each year, but when so many come at the same time, it is difficult to spend quality time with them.
On the Wednesday before the conference, Darla and I were able to see Samson at the Sight and Sound Theater in Branson. In past years we saw Moses and Jonah. These are always well done on a massive stage with huge props and with animals onstage and even in the aisles. At this point, I do not know if the story of Samson will prove to be a foreshadowing of things soon to come. That will be something to watch in the coming year.
I did get a revelation toward the end of the conference which has provided me with a few watch dates coming up shortly.
Watch Date: Yom Kippur
The watch dates are based on 216-day cycles from events last February. The number 216 has been a very important number in our understanding of prophecy. It is based largely on the fact that the name Joshua appears 216 times in Scripture. Caleb is also connected to Joshua, since they are the two overcomers who crossed the Jordan with the Israelites after their wilderness experience.
Caleb means “dog” in Hebrew, and the word has to do with being of one heart (leb) with someone. Hence, a dog is “man’s best friend.” The significance of Caleb is to reveal that the overcomers are friends of Joshua (Jesus), sharing His heart, His goals, His passion, and His love.
The Chinese Year of the Dog began on February 16, 2018, which we in America write as 2/16 (216). It happened that my wife and I were in Christchurch (New Zealand) for a meeting that day. It is not often in history that the Year of the Dog coincides with 2/16 on our calendar, so we felt that this theme would be very significant this year.
216 days after 2/16 (reckoning inclusively) brings us to Yom Kippur, September 19, 2018. Some are treating this day as a Jubilee this year. There are many levels of Jubilee, of course, depending on one’s beginning point. In this case it could be some sort of financial (debt) Jubilee, as many are expecting.
Recall that Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) was a day of fasting and repentance on account of the Israelites’ refusal to enter the Promised Land in Numbers 14:4. What should have been celebrated as the 50th Jubilee from Adam was turned into a Day of Atonement. Caleb and Joshua had the faith to enter God’s rest (Numbers 14:6-9), but the people themselves wanted to stone them for suggesting such a thing (Numbers 14:10). This shows the difference between the overcomers and “the church in the wilderness” (Acts 7:38 KJV). The church has always persecuted the overcomers for believing the promises of God.
So September 19, 2018 is a watch date. It is flanked by two other watch dates that also have their roots in the events from last February.
February 10 plus 216 days is September 13 (Whirlwind Florence)
February 16 plus 216 days is September 19 (Yom Kippur)
February 21 plus 216 days is September 24 (1st day of Tabernacles)
Watch Date: September 13
As I write this, Hurricane Florence is in the Atlantic Ocean heading toward the coast of North and South Carolina on our East Coast. People living on the coast have been urged to leave, as this could be the most powerful hurricane on record to hit America.
Projections say that the eye of the storm should hit the coast on September 13, which is 216 days from February 10, reckoned inclusively. If the high pressure ridge slows it down, Florence might actually hit the coast the next day, September 14. Either way, it would be 216 days from February 10, or 2/10, a prophetic type of the day that Israel was to select the lambs for Passover. It was also the day that Israel crossed the Jordan under Caleb and Joshua (Joshua 4:19).
On February 10, 2018 Chuck-JOHNEL died. He was the prophet who established the Net of Prayer in the late 1970’s, which I later joined in 1983. The NOP was where God trained me in spiritual warfare and intercession during the 1980’s until I resigned in 1989. Chuck claimed to be “Elijah.”
In my own view, I have met many Elijahs over the years, some more prominent than others, and I think of Elijah as a company of people, rather than as a single individual. Even so, Chuck was certainly an Elijah type, and this is now coming into prominence 216 days after his passing.
I reported his death, along with some commentary, in at the end of a weblog dated February 26, 2018.

Back in 2008-2009 it was revealed to us that Elijah’s ministry had to be completed by Elisha under the double portion of Elijah’s anointing (2 Kings 2:9). John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus in His first coming, was “Elijah” (Matthew 11:14), but to complete the work, “Elisha” must come with the double portion as the forerunner for Christ in His second coming.
Again, it is my view that Elisha is a company of people, not a single individual. Yet it is important to note the progression from Elijah to Elisha, which differentiates the present work with that of John the Baptist. If you have followed my weblogs since April of 2009, you know that this “Elisha” work began on April 12, 2009 and that we completed the first half of that work (the first 8 signs of Elisha) on July 15, 2010.
We now await the start of the second half of the Elisha work, which will be the double portion that goes beyond the single portion of Elijah. We have seen stirrings of this double portion for some time now, but as a practical reality, it is still being held back.
When Chuck-JOHNEL passed on February 10, I felt like the time of Elijah had now fully passed, and that the rise of Elisha was soon to come. But when? That has been the question.
Recall that Elijah passed from the scene when he was taken up by a fiery chariot in a whirlwind (2 Kings 2:11). When Chuck died in February, there was no whirlwind to mark the day. But 216 days later we see Whirlwind Florence that is expected to hit the coast on September 13/14. To me, that is a clear sign—sort of like the completion of the passing of Elijah.
Watch Date: September 24
September 24, 2018 is 216 days after the death of Billy Graham, who was recognized as a type of Moses. Billy Graham died on February 21, and 216 days later (reckoned inclusively) falls on the first day of the feast of Tabernacles.
Moses and Elijah are often linked together in prophecy. See Malachi 4:4-6 as well as the description of the two witnesses in Revelation 11:6, where they “shut up the sky in order that rain may not fall” (Elijah’s ministry) and “smite the earth with every plague” (Moses’ ministry).
Hence, I find it more than coincidental that prophetic representatives of both Moses and Elijah would die just 11 days apart last February. During our Branson conference, Ron spoke of the 216-day connections from February 16 and 21, and I connected these with the passing of Chuck-JOHNEL (2/10). The coming of Whirlwind Florence confirms September 13 as a watch date.
That is how the revelation came, giving us these watch dates in September.
February 10 plus 216 days is September 13 (Whirlwind Florence)
February 16 plus 216 days is September 19 (Yom Kippur)
February 21 plus 216 days is September 24 (1st day of Tabernacles)
Right now, we have yet to see what actually occurs on these watch dates. We have enough information to know what dates to watch, and we know how to connect the events to the things that happened in February. We know that the last two of our watch dates happen to fall on feast days. All of these things give us the tools to interpret soon-coming events.
Of greatest interest to me is the start of Elisha’s “double portion” ministry. To me, it connects to the ministry that is driven by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The “Moses” ministry seems to be about speaking to the rock to bring forth the river of the Holy Spirit. As you may recall, Moses failed in that particular calling, because he struck the rock instead. But even so, it tells us what the ministry of Moses was supposed to do in our time.
It is significant then that Billy Graham’s ministry was primarily a preaching ministry, while Chuck-JOHNEL’s ministry was more prophetic and intercessory.
Even so, they did their ministries without the double anointing. Hence, there is something greater yet to come. Perhaps this month will be the final transition into this final phase of preparation.
