The new World Trade Center—the so-called “Freedom Tower”—is now open for business, and the first tenant, Conde Nast, is now beginning to move into it.
NEW YORK -- Thirteen years after the 9/11 terrorist attack, the resurrected World Trade Center is again opening for business -- marking an emotional milestone for both New Yorkers and the nation.
Publishing giant Conde Nast will start moving Monday into One World Trade Center, a 104-story, $3.9 billion skyscraper that dominates the Manhattan skyline. It is America's tallest building.
The prophetic significance of this tower is well documented in Jonathan Cahn’s book, The Harbinger. I wrote a weblog summarizing his information three years ago, even before he finished his book, since he had already spoken out on video presentations.

The link to his videos, given in this weblog, is no longer available, now that the book has been written. But the rest of the weblog gives the basic information, for those who are unaware of it.
Isaiah 9:8-11 was God’s warning against the ancient House of Israel when the Assyrians began deporting the first few Israelites. God meant it as a warning of full judgment to come, if the people did not repent. However, they decided to “rebuild” and to make their defenses strong to try to defend themselves against God’s judgments. Their words of defiance are given in Isaiah 9:9, 10,
9 … Asserting in pride and in arrogance of heart: 10 “The bricks are fallen down, but we will rebuilt with smooth [“hewn”] stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.”
The demolition of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001 was, as Cahn tells us, a “harbinger” of things yet to come to America, even as it was in Isaiah’s time. Further, America refused to repent, even as Israel refused in Isaiah’s time. This was expressed the next day in an address by Senator Tom Daschle, as he addressed the world in the Joint Response of the Nation on the Senate floor in Washington D.C., where he said,
Mr. President, it is with pain, sorrow, anger, and resolve that I stand before this Senate, a symbol for 212 years [since 1789] of the strength of our Democracy, and say that America will emerge from this tragedy as we have emerged from all adversity, united and strong.
The world should know that the Members of both parties in both Houses stand united. The full resources of our Government will be brought to bear in aiding the search and rescue and in hunting down those responsible and those who may have aided or harbored them.
Nothing, nothing can replace the losses that we have suffered. I know there is only the smallest measure of inspiration that can be taken from this devastation. But there is a passage in the Bible, from Isaiah, that I think speaks to all of us at times such as this:
The bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild with dressed stone; the fig trees [sycamores] have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.
This is what we will do. We will rebuild and we will recover. The people of America stand strong together, because the people of America have always stood together. And those of us privileged to serve this great Nation will stand with you.
On 9-11 the old sycamore tree, which stood near the chapel at Ground Zero, was hit by a steel beam from the North Tower and was “cut down.” It was replaced on November 22, 2003 with a cedar, called the “Tree of Hope.” So Isaiah’s prophecy was complete.
Political candidate for president, John Edwards, made a speech there on the third anniversary on September 11, 2004, where he said,
Good morning. Today on this day of remembrance and mourning, we have the Lord’s Word:
The bricks have fallen, but we will build—with dressed stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place…
Let me show you how we are building and putting cedars in those three hallowed places, the Towers, the Pentagon, and the Field. Walk with me through this day and you will see that while those bricks fell and the sycamores cut down, our people are making those cedars rise.
I always find it fascinating how God causes the ungodly to prophesy in ignorance. In quoting Isaiah, these politicians have expressed openly what is in the heart of the American people as a whole (not everyone, of course, but the majority). It is the message that regardless of what God does to wake us up and show us that we are in danger of divine judgment, America will demonstrate its strength and resolve by rebuilding instead of repenting.
This is important also in light of the fact that the 911 event caused many people to go to church, but few received the proper answer from the pulpits. The outcry did not demand that America give up its lawless ways and reinstate God as the recognized Sovereign over all nations. Instead, the outcry demanded that the government lash out and “protect” us from the perceived evil men. They did not know or believe that God would judge America for its sin in this way. America has the religious misconception that God will bless us in our sin and protect us so that we may continue in sin that grace may abound.
The Freedom Tower thus represents the American resolve to maintain their freedom to establish their own laws, whether they contradict God’s law or not. They wish to be free from God’s rule, which they believe to be evil and restrictive. So the politicians expressed the resolve to rebuild with a bigger and better tower, which has now been completed and open for business.
However, they quietly forgot that the so-called “Tree of Hope” died in spite of great efforts to keep it alive. It was uprooted a few months ago, as I wrote on September 15;
http://www.gods-kingdom-ministries.net/daily-weblogs/2014/09-2014/tree-of-hope-uprooted/
This was the tree that had replaced the sycamore that was cut down on 9/11/01. While the politicians and the media made a big deal of the symbolism of the Freedom Tower, they refuse to admit that the uprooting of the Tree of Hope is just as symbolic and prophetic.
Now that the Twin Towers is open for business, the resolve of the nation to defy God’s “harbinger” of judgment is now complete. Both issues—the tree and the tower—have reached their conclusion. So now we await the divine response.
It is interesting that the “Freedom Tower” is opening during our prayer campaign. This prayer campaign is, in many ways, a book end to that which we did in November of 2001 shortly after the Twin Towers were demolished.
What will this mean in the months ahead? I suspect that it will release divine judgment shortly. Perhaps we will see some signs of this on November 5 or 6 when the campaign ends.
Be watchful.
