Standing in the Gap--Supplement

The conference in Gap, PA was only two days long (Friday and Saturday), because the Family Center, where we met, was not available to us that Sunday. For this reason, arrangements were made to meet at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at a nearby restaurant that had an available meeting room. We had brunch and enjoyed a morning of informal fellowship.

When Ron walked in, he noticed that the walls were made of stone, and his thought was that it looks like we were meeting in the Capstone of the Great Pyramid. One of the ladies who waited on us turned out to be the owner of the restaurant. Toward the end of our fellowship, someone asked her how the restaurant got its name: Four Brothers. She said that originally, four brothers had bought the business, but that later she and her husband had bought them out and were now the sole owners.

Someone then asked about their nationality, and she said they were Egyptian.

This reinforced our revelation about the purpose of the meetings in Gap. The Egypt connection linked us to the events of 1998, when the Passover conference was held in Hagerstown, MD, and when we received the revelation to “cast out the bondwoman and her son” in order to resolve the dispute over the birthright between Ishmael and Isaac.

Remember, of course, that the purpose of casting out the bondwoman was not designed ultimately to harm or destroy Hagar, Ishmael, or Egypt, but to allow Isaac to enter his calling so that he could extend the blessings of Abraham to the whole world, including Hagar and Ishmael.

It has been a real eye-opener for many to observe how the Father leads us year after year to hold conferences in locations that become part of the unfolding revelation. This has been a good learning experience, not only for James who has been organizing these conferences, but for all who attend, because they are able to see first hand how God leads and how He speaks.
