Well, the Democrats got everything they were demanding, while the Republicans got virtually nothing. The new bill dealt with tax rates, but only increased spending. The Republican humiliation will probably make them fight even more bitterly in February and March when they try to get spending cuts.
One problem the Republicans have, in my opinion, is that they do not truly understand the power of television like Ronald Reagan did. Or for that matter, John Kennedy and Bill Clinton. These presidents were very personable and good looking. They could appeal to the public much more effectively than John Boehner, who always reminds me of a bloodhound—not for his persistence, but for his sad, droopy eyes. I never thought he could win his case on television.
Then, too, the Republicans are demanding austerity measures, which are never popular. Witness Greece and Spain. It is so much easier to be the party that wants to keep on giving away other people’s money. And that is the main weakness of a Democracy. When the people demand more money than the taxpayers are able to support, it is the beginning of the end.
Yet there is a deeper problem that neither party is addressing. It is the fact that 99 years ago we gave the power to create money to a consortium of private bankers who formed the Federal Reserve Bank. From then on, any creation of new money injected into the economy came in the form of debt.
Likewise, the principle of fractional banking, done by individual banks, created more money by increasing debt. Every time a mortgage is signed, say, to buy a house, the mortgage company uses your signature to create new money. They do not lend you their own money. Your signature creates it out of thin air, and then you have to pay interest on it as if the mortgage company had loaned you some hard earned money that someone had deposited into their account.
The system is fraudulent, because they hide the facts from you. And so we have a debt-based economy, which works only as long as the economy improves. But we have now come to the place where the debt is so massive that it has reached the point of near collapse.
Will higher taxes resolve the problem? No. You can raise the tax to 100% and it would still not balance the budget. Is austerity the answer? No. Austerity only reduces the money supply and makes the problem worse. That is why in 2009 President Obama put through the “stimulus package.” It was designed to create more debt in order to create more money. Being in recession means that there is not enough money in circulation to meet the needs of business. Under the Federal Reserve System, the only way to end a recession is to go further into debt.
Yet the Republicans and Democrats both ignore the real underlying cause of the economic problem. They bicker about taxes and spending, when they ought to be discussing ways to end the Federal Reserve Bank. The Treasury ought to take back the power to create money that is not a debt. Then it should replace all Federal Reserve Notes with Treasury Notes, so that these notes are real money and not just more debt notes.
Long ago, Moses told Israel that if they recognized God as their King and followed His laws, they would be blessed beyond measure. Deuteronomy 28:12 says,
12 The Lord will open for you His vvstorehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
But if we violated His laws, Moses said in verses 43 and 44,
43 The alien who is among you shall rise above you higher and higher, but you shall go down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.
Although America’s Declaration of Independence recognized the Creator as the source of all human rights, we gave ourselves the right to create our own laws. Hence, it did not take long for us to get into trouble. The defining problem, perhaps, was the unequal and often brutal treatment of blacks and Indians. We did not follow the laws of God in our dealings with them.
In the late 1800’s we allowed certain aliens from Europe to come and do business in America, and it was not long before they became the head, while we became the tail. Their crowning achievement was to pass the Federal Reserve Act in 1913, which sealed our enslavement.
The Church talks about prosperity, but they do not realize that America is in captivity to Mystery Babylon. Even as many Judahites prospered in Babylon years ago, so also many prosper under Mystery Babylon. But the system itself is rigged to benefit the few, because it is not based upon biblical law. It is a bit like the casino, where a few people win big, but only the casino really makes money.
Until the house and senate begin open discussions on the Federal Reserve Bank, our problems will continue. The usury banking system in the end will own everything, unless the people rise up in revolt and take it from them. The bankers know this, and that is why they are trying desperately to confiscate guns. They know they have reached the end of the road, where they must gain total power or flee for their lives.
In my view, such a revolt will not succeed apart from the people’s repentance. God will not support any revolt that would only perpetuate church lawlessness. The pattern is found in Nehemiah 8, where Ezra read the law to the people and translated it from Hebrew to Aramaic, so that they would understand it (8:8). It was as if they had been totally ignorant of the law up to that point. When the law was read, “all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the law” (8:9). Then they kept the feast of Tabernacles for the first time since the days of Joshua (8:17) and read the law during the entire week of Tabernacles (8:18).
Of course, under the New Covenant, some changes have been made to the law. The principles were not changed, but the forms were altered to suit the New Covenant. The book of Hebrews lists most of those changes. Nonetheless, if we claim to be Tabernacles people, we should recognize that the feast of Tabernacles was the only feast where the book of Deuteronomy was read in its entirety. The pattern was established by Ezra, and some day we too will fulfill this prophetic pattern. Then our captivity will end, and politicians will not have to argue about tax rates or spending cuts. Tax rates will be fixed by biblical law, and true prosperity will make big government unnecessary.
