So he is Jewish, a Socialist, and if not a Freemason himself, he is at least the son of a Freemason(Grand Orient de France). The name Kahn is a version of Cohen, which is Hebrew for "priest."
As the head of the IMF, he is the Chief Moneychanger in the temple, and the priests are being cast out of the temple.
