In my study of the book of Revelation posted on the FFI's from a few years ago, I explained the seven bowls of wine being poured out in Revelation 16.
The first bowl of wine was to be poured out on the EARTH, while the second was upon the SEA.
I showed the symbolic connection of these with the two beasts in Revelation 13. The first was from the sea, and the second was from the earth. In this context, the beast from the sea was the religious beast, the extension of Rome known in Daniel 7 as "the little horn." The second beast (from the earth) is the economic beast of the modern banking system, which began to overthrow the power of Rome in the late 1700's and establish itself as the power broker of the world.
So when we come to Revelation 16, the first bowl of wine (judgment) was to be poured out upon the existing power--that is, the banking system of debt-usury fiat money creation. We are now seeing its collapse since 2007.
The recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20 is described in Rev. 16:3,
"And the second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died."
It appears to me that this is not only a literal event, but also a sign of something deeper. In that it involves the SEA, it could well signal divine judgment upon the Church, or religious beast that still functions as a secondary power even today.
Reports show that scientists are a bit puzzled as to why the oil in the Gulf is red, rather than black. The spill has brought about another Red Sea. They say:
"We believe that the reddish brown color is indicative of the formation of a water-in-oil emulsion, called a mousse," said Edward Overton, professor emeritus at Louisiana State University. "These [oil slicks] typically have colors other than black, but with this oil, the colors are fairly vivid."
He added, "We still don't know the exact cause of the color change but it probably has something to do with the water/asphaltene interactions."

To interpret this as a prophetic sign, we must take into account a number of prophecies and biblical events. First, of course, is the Church connection to Rev. 13 and the beast from the sea. Second, it fits the description of Rev. 16:3.
Third, it seems to connect with the first plague in Egypt, where the Nile was turned to blood. Fourth, it seems to indicate a Red Sea Crossing of some type.
When we poured out the seven bowls of water and wine from 2000 to 2006 (one at each feast of Tabernacles), we understood that we would see signs within the year (each year), but that "Jericho" would not actually begin to fall until after the last bowl had been poured out. This is because when Israel conquered Jericho, nothing seemed to happen until they had finished their 13th trip around the city. This prophesied of the 13 years from 1993-2006, of which the final 7 years represented the last 7 times walking around Jericho.
So the economic collapse of Babylon began to occur within the year (in 2007).
Our final bowl of wine was poured out at Babylon, NY on October 7, 2006. So 1,290 days later we saw the oil spill in the Gulf (April 20). This was according to the number of the desolator in Daniel 12:11.
But Daniel also says to watch the 1335th day, which is 45 days beyond 1,290. If you have followed the news accounts, you may have noticed that they have recently been counting the days of the oil spill. Today is Day #45. In other words, today, June 3, 2010 is 1335 days from the seventh bowl of wine poured out at Babylon, NY.
It is too early to say what might be happening today, but it should be a "blessed" event, whatever it is. Daniel 12:12 says,
"How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days."
Perhaps by tomorrow or the end of the week we will be able to assess what is happening in this regard. Stay tuned, and be patient.
