Revelation 17 speaks of the "great whore" riding a beast. At the end of the chapter, however, the beast is found to hate the whore that rides it. So the beast turns on the whore in verse 16.
Perhaps the beast is represented collectively by the U.N. Perhaps the "great whore" is the counterfeit bride, that is, the counterfeit Israel. Perhaps the beast is really coming to hate the whore.
I am reminded of Gideon and the battle where the three enemies turned and fought against each other. Gideon's army only had to clean up afterward.
