40-Day Fast Ends July 7, 2007

For the past few months, Lou Engels has been promoting a 40-day time of fasting from May 28 to July 7.

I have been watching this with some interest, mostly because of the connection being made to the 40-year marker from the Six Day War in 1967, in which the Israelis took control of the city of Jerusalem.

The year 1967 was also the year that sent 100,000 "Flower Children" to San Francisco for the infamous "Summer of Love." These young people ("Hippies") experimented with LSD and other drugs, casual sex, and Eastern mysticism. But at the same time the Jesus Movement began to explode on college campuses and in coffee houses around the country and the world. It was really quite an important year, both good and bad.

In the Bible, the word for "oath" literally comes from the word "seven" because they would repeat their vows seven times. 07.07.07 is an invitation, a divine opportunity to divorce our false loves and remarry the Lord.

2007 is a covenant year for America, the 400th anniversary of the planting of the cross in Virginia. We believe that if the Church will gather to fast and pray, God will visit America in an historic awakening again.

In that day, declares the Lord, you will call me "my husband"; you will no longer call me "my master." I will remove the names of the Baals from her lips. . . I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. From Hosea 2:16-20.

Since the end of last year, I have been talking about how we are beginning to see the fruit of our labors from the spiritual warfare that we accomplished back in 2001. This first beginning of manifestation is occurring after six years, as if to imitate, 40 years later, the 6-day war in 1967.

One of the central themes of our spiritual battles in 2001 was to obtain a divorce for America from the golden calves that were set up in Israel in the days of Jeroboam (1 Kings 12:28). Israel was eventually divorced for her adultery with those golden calves (Jer. 3:8), and God sent her out of the house according to the law (Deut. 24:1-4). Israel went into captivity into Assyria and was not allowed to return because of that divorce.

God even stripped Israel of her birthright name, and they came to be called by other names such as Khumree (from King Omri), Gamira, Sakka (Saxons), Skuths (Scots), and so on.

Those people eventually migrated into Europe and also into America, establishing a new nation, supposedly "under God" in North America. The problem was, she had never gotten a divorce from those golden calves. This was revealed to us in January of 2001, and we were sent into spiritual warfare to accomplish this.

The divorce was obtained at the end of three battles on March 24, 2001. A month later, on April 24, we obtained an annulment of the marriage from the beginning in order to disinherit the children of that unholy union.

Then on June 19-22 we held another prayer campaign with the long name: "We Accept Your New Covenant Marriage Proposal." During that prayer campaign, on June 21, 2001, God gave the world a striking sign of the acceptance of His marriage proposal. It was a solar eclipse, which was called "The diamond Ring," because it looked like a ring of light with a diamond-like projectile on the top of it. To us, this was an unmistakable sign that God was offering America a prophetic "diamond ring." And because the overcomers now have the full authority to make decisions in the earth, their decision to accept the marriage proposal was binding upon the whole nation.

Six years later, in 2007, we are seeing a movement to pray and fast for 40 days that America would divorce Baal (the golden calves) and remarry Jesus Christ. This, I believe, is part of the fruit of our labor from 2001. The Church is responding without realizing that they are unconsciously fulfilling the decrees of the overcomers in 2001. It appears, then, that 2007 is the next stage of development in the fulfillment of this decree. I think that we will continue to see this develop in the years to come, and will probably see a significant increase next year in 2008.
