In 1993 the Lord told us that the purpose of the Jubilee Prayer Campaign was for the overthrow of Mystery Babylon. Knowing that a world system like this does not collapse overnight, we agreed that we should watch two dates in connection with this overthrow. The first would be one year later, Nov. 29, 1994. The other would be 414 days later, coming to Jan. 17, 1995.
In Daniel 4, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had a prophetic dream, where he saw a great "tree." The prophet interpreted his dream, telling him in verse 22 that the tree was Nebuchadnezzar himself. Of course, by extension, the tree was Babylon, because the king represented the kingdom.
In the dream the "tree" was cut down at the decree of the "watchers." They left a stump, however, which grew back into another tree. The primary lesson in this chapter is that God rules the affairs of men, setting up and deposing kings according to the council of His own will. The king of Babylon had been given authority over all these nations, not because he was so intelligent and powerful, but because God had decreed it. We know, of course, that Judah had rebelled against God, and so God gave Judah's authority to the king of Babylon.
The dream came to pass after twelve months, or one year (4:29). As the king bragged about his accomplishments in his "house," he was suddenly stricken with some form of mental illness, and he was unable to rule. When he returned to his senses, humbled by divine action, he gave glory to God and essentially declared Babylon to be under the true God. In other words, Babylon became a Christian Nation.
Revelation 11:15 puts it this way: "The kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ."
In 1993 we studied this story, believing that we would see something happen twelve months after Nov. 29, 1993. Sure enough, as I wrote on Oct. 5, 2006, Speaker of the House Tom Foley was beaten in the elections in 1994 by George Nethercutt ("a lower cut"). On Nov. 29, 1994 Foley pushed the GATT Treaty through the House of Representatives, then gave a speech bragging about the great things that they had accomplished, and then he resigned.
Few saw this as a sign of the fall of Babylon, but because we were watching that date and knew a year in advance the story in Daniel 4 that would be manifested, it was easy for us to know who and what to watch.
The other sign we knew to watch was 414 days after Nov. 29, 1993. This is the factor of "Cursed Time." Recall that by this date we had received precisely 414 prayer warriors who had signed up for the prayer campaign. So 414 days later came to Jan. 17, 1995, the day of the great earthquake in Kobe, Japan.
We had been expecting to see an earthquake on that date, but we figured it would probably hit the Seattle, WA area, because Seattle represented Washington D.C., which has become Babylonianized. However, the quake hit Kobe, Seattle's Sister City. Later we discovered from the glossary of a book on archeology that Kobe and Babylon [Bab-ili] have the same meaning--"God's Door" or "God's Gate."
Thus, Kobe was a type of Babylon and the sister city of Seattle, which in turn represented Washington D.C.
Incidentally, the Northridge Quake in Los Angeles occurred on Jan. 17, 1994 just seven weeks after our prayer campaign. This surprised us, because we were not expecting an earthquake to happen until a year later. Yet it did confirm to us that our discernment was correct and that we were to expect another quake on Jan. 17, 1995.
Meanwhile, Ron had received revelation about Japan, "The Land of the Rising Sun," and how some important prophetic events would begin there. The Kobe quake clarified the meaning of those revelations. There is far too much to relate here. Perhaps in a future web log I will be able to cover this more adequately. It is sufficient for now to know that the Kobe quake did occur on the appointed time, and that it was a double witness to the soon-coming fall of Mystery Babylon.
The third major date that we were to watch after the Jubilee Prayer Campaign was the seven-year cycle leading to Nov. 29, 2000. This is related to the "seven times" cycle where Nebuchadnezzar was insane, as related in Daniel 4. We had related this cycle to the seven times Israel marched around Jericho in Joshua 6. Our conclusion was that the Jubilee Prayer Campaign was more than just an eight-day prayer campaign in 1993. Phase Two was to be viewed as a seven-year "Jericho march" that would end Nov. 29, 2000.
Then another friend called Sunny Day began to be led to hold prophetic meetings in various parts of the country. After a few had been called, it occurred to me that these represented the seven "trumpets" in these seven years in our Jericho march. Sure enough, the seventh meeting was called for Nov. 28-30, 2000, to be held in Mauston, Wisconsin.
Each of these meetings presented a different revelation of God's dealings in the earth. Someday books will be written that will detail this aspect of the History of the Kingdom. But in this seventh meeting we were led to go to a place called "The House on the Rock" and proclaim various Scriptures about Babylon, including Jer. 50:15,
"Shout against her [Babylon] round about; she has given her hand; her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of the Lord; take vengeance upon her; as she has done, so do unto her."
The connections between Jericho and Babylon are obvious if you compare this with Joshua 6:16. The connection with Mystery Babylon is found in Rev. 18:6.
This seven-year cycle in regard to the fall of Babylon ended on Nov. 29, 2000. But this was primarily the negative aspect of the word, because it related to the downfall of Babylon. The positive side throughout all of this is the establishment of God's Kingdom and the authority of His overcomers in the earth.
We had understood from the early 1990's that Nov. 30, 2000 was a date signifying the establishment of the overcomers' authority in the earth. This goes back to the story of David and Saul. As I have shown in past web logs and in my book, The Wheat and Asses of Pentecost, King Saul was a type of the Church under its Pentecostal anointing. Saul was actually crowned on the day of "wheat harvest" (1 Sam. 12:17), which is Old Testament terminology for Pentecost. He reigned 40 years.
This was a prophetic type of the reign of the Church (as "Saul") for 40 Jubilees, from 33 A.D. to 1993. Pentecost that year fell on May 30, 1993, which carries a lengthy story all in itself. We saw the signs at that time of the death of Saul, the beginning of the end of Church authority. This was also the beginning of David's reign in Hebron over a single tribe (Judah).
David reigned in Hebron for seven years and six months (2 Sam. 5:5). Toward the end of that time, representatives of all Israel came to crown him king over all Israel (2 Sam. 5:1). Once the tribes were united under him, David conquered Jerusalem and made it his capital city after seven years and six months in Hebron.
This prophetic type was fulfilled beginning on May 30, 1993 with the death of "Saul." David (i.e., the overcomers) were crowned at the Feast of Tabernacles, October 20, 2000. A month later, on Nov. 29, 2000 we went to the House on the Rock to take "Jerusalem" and to overthrow Babylon and Jericho.
The next day, Nov. 30, 2000 marked the end of seven years and six months from the death of Saul and David's rule in Hebron. Essentially, the story played out before us was the transfer of authority from old Jerusalem ("Jebus," 1 Chron. 11:4) to New Jerusalem. The overcomers are now the divinely recognized authority in the earth.
