In the book of Revelation, an entity called "Babylon" is presented to us as the great world-wide, man-made counterfeit to the Kingdom of God. This "Babylon" is also presented in chapter 17 as a great harlot, which is the counterfeit Bride, the woman competing with the true Bride of Christ.
This Babylonian system has been exercising control over the earth to some degree since the days of Nimrod. But today its power is reaching its zenith just before it crashes to the earth. It is too powerful to be overthrown by conventional physical means, and God does not recommend such methods in His Word. However, I have absolute confidence that it will be overthrown by spiritual warfare, when done in the right way and in the right time, and when led by the Spirit of God.
Two centuries ago, when the Rothschilds began to become wealthy, they had as their goal to re-establish a Kingdom of Judah in Palestine. To succeed meant that they would have a claim to the throne as Messiah. Thus, they thought of themselves as royalty, as we read in the official 1998 biography of the Rothschilds by Niall Ferguson in The House of Rothschild, page 8,
"In this sense, phrases like 'Kings of the Jews' which contemporaries applied to them contained an important element of truth. This was exactly the way the Rothschilds saw and conducted themselves--as phrases like 'our royal family' in their letters show--and the way they were treated by many other less wealthy Jews."
The most important result of the rise of Rothschild was that they were able to gain a large share of financial control over the banking systems of Europe and thereby control governments as well. In partnership with others, especially other wealthy Jews, as well as by marital alliances with wealthy non-Jews, they were finally able to gain controlling interest in what the Bible calls "Babylon." It took a lot of hard work and much underhanded trickery, as even their biography tells us on occasion. But they succeeded.
The Israeli state is the offspring of Babylon and the result of many generations of labor. The U.N. soon realized that it had created a monster that it could not control. The "homeland" quickly became a "Jewish State," and Palestinians were expelled where possible. Those who remained became second-class citizens. But prophetically speaking, the result of this new State was that Zionists could now go there and fulfill the end-time prophecies. Just which prophecies they were fulfilling is disputed, of course.
Revelation 18:24 is one of the great clues as to the identity of "Babylon." When it is "thrown down" (vs. 21), there is something that will come to light at that time. Verse 24 says,
"And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth."
Really?? John must have remembered Jesus' words in Luke 11:47-51.
"47 Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and it was your fathers who killed them.
48 Consequently, you are witnesses and approve the deeds of your fathers; because it was they who killed them, and you build their tombs.
49 For this reason also the wisdom of God said, I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and some they will persecute,
50 in order that the blood of all the prophets shed since the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation ["offspring"],
51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the house of God; yes, I tell you, it shall be charged against this generation ["offspring"]."
It is not hard to see that Rev. 18:24 is a reference to Jesus' words in Luke 11:49 and 50. See also Matthew 23:29-36, which says the same.
How is it that Babylon could be charged with the same bloodshed that Jesus laid at the feet of "this offspring" ? Jesus resigned Himself to going to Jerusalem to die, saying in Luke 13:33, "for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem."
I conclude, then, that by the end of this age, Babylon would be controlled primarily by same people who killed all of the biblical prophets and Jesus Himself. Thus, when Jacob gave the birthright back to Esau-Edom in 1947-48, it created the Israeli State and marked the time when Esau conquered Babylon and became its King.
The precedent for this was established a long time ago by Esau himself. The Book of Jasher gives the account of this. I am quoting here from the 1840 translation of the 1613 edition that was first printed in Venice, Italy. An old copy, almost illegible in spots, had been discovered in a Rabbi's office at that time. (I have some copies available purely as a service for those who want one for their library for $10.00 each.) In Jasher XXVII, we read,
"And Esau at that time, after the death of Abraham, frequently went in the field to hunt. And Nimrod, king of Babel, the same was Amraphel, also frequently went with his mighty men to hunt in the field, and to walk about with his men in the cool of the day.
"And Nimrod was observing Esau all the days, for a jealousy was formed in the heart of Nimrod against Esau all the days. And on a certain day, Esau went in the field to hunt, and he found Nimrod walking in the wilderness with his two men... And Nimrod and two of his men that were with him came to the place where they were, when Esau started suddenly from his lurking place and drew his sword, and hstened and ran to Nimrod and cut off his head.
"And Esau fought a desperate fight with the two men that were with Nimrod, and when they called out to him, Esau turned to them and smote them to death with his sword...
"And when Esau saw the mighty men of Nimrod coming at a distance, he fled, and thereby escaped; and Esau took the valuable garments of Nimrod, which Nimrod's father had bequeathed to Nimrod, and with which Nimrod prevailed over the whole land, and he ran and concealed them in his house."
The story continues by telling us that Esau ran home where he arrived totally exhausted and famished. That is when he sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of soup.
The point is this: Nimrod's garments had been given to him by his father, Cush, whose father (Ham) had stolen from Noah when Noah was drunk (Gen. 9:22). These were the skins that God had given to Adam, which had been passed down as a symbol of the Birthright and divine right to rule. Nimrod was the founder of Babylon after he put on those garments. Esau later killed him and stole them from Nimrod, thinking that this would entitle him to receive the Birthright and to rule the earth.
This was all prophetic of what would happen in recent history. Babylon has been around for a long time in various "beast" forms, as shown by the prophet Daniel. But in the end, Esau was destined to receive the Birthright from Jacob, because of Jacob's sin. But Esau was also destined to steal the Birthright from Nimrod, thus attaining authority over Babylon.
That is what has happened in recent history. Esau took control of the world and took Palestine by force and violence. Esau usurped Nimrod's position. And that is what put the Zionists of Esau squarely on the "feet" of the Babylonian Image (Daniel 2) directly in the path of the coming Stone. This is why Jesus warned them of this Stone in Matthew 21:44, 45, saying,
"And he who falls on this Stone will be broken to pieces, but on whomsoever it falls, it will scatter him like dust. And when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard His parables, they understood that He was speaking about them."
Zionists need to know this so that they can remove themselves from harm's way before it is too late.
