Recall that a year ago, August 24, 2021, Russia and Saudi Arabia signed a military agreement, virtually ending the Saudi kingdom’s military alliance with the US that dated back to the formation of the petro-dollar in 1973. This new alliance was signed just nine days after the fall of Kabul, which showed the world that the US could not be relied upon for military help.

The next day, Nigeria, another major oil producer, followed the Saudi lead and also signed a military cooperation agreement with Russia.

Nigeria had already been moving in that direction as early as October 2019, so this agreement was not the first of its kind.
In July 2022, Biden made a trip to Saudi Arabia to try to get them to increase their production of oil to make up for the loss of Russian imports. The Saudis refused. In fact, they decided to get OPEC to reduce oil production next month (October), a move that will certainly cause more shortages in Europe and higher prices (and profits for Russia and the Saudis). Here is a short 3-minute video that comments on this Russian-Saudi alliance.

We should not underestimate the significance of this shifting alliance. When the US and Europe forced Russia to turn east and become an Asian power, there were consequences. Asia is becoming more united, and the West is becoming more bankrupt.
As I have written in the past, all of this is the consequence of following the Brzezinski Doctrine and the Wolfowitz Doctrine that were adopted in the 1990’s. By these political doctrines, Russia remained on America's enemy list even after the collapse of communism in the old Soviet Union in 1991. If they had welcomed Russia into Europe (as the Russians expected and desired), Russia would have been a friend and ally, and as it regained strength, the West might have been able to keep China at bay.
But it seems that God made our Babylonian leaders a bit crazy. Their wisdom was turned into foolishness, which they cannot now admit or change. Obadiah 8 prophesied of this moment:
8 “Will I not on that day,” declares the Lord, “destroy wise men from Edom and understanding from the mountain of Esau?”
