After losing support, Mario Draghi said Thursday that he will resign as Prime Minister of Italy. This comes just days after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also announced his resignation. Both events essentially are part of the fallout caused by ill-conceived sanctions against Russia, which have caused economic turmoil throughout Europe.
“I want to announce that this evening I will my tender my resignation to the president of the republic,” Draghi said Thursday, according to the New York Times. “The majority of national unity, which supported this government since its inception, no longer exists.”
