On November 5, 2001 the divine court case called “Ye Shall Surely Perish” ended with the binding of Satan, according to the prophecy in Revelation 20:1-3. We were privileged to see this event ahead of time and even to be a participant. Having seen this in the timeless realm of the spirit, we are as confident as John was in his day.
In fact, because all spiritual warfare on this level is accomplished in the timeless realm, we understand that we fought alongside of all of the prophets from the past who were involved in this great warfare. We do not need to live in the same generation to participate in the same war. Timelessness may be hard for our minds to grasp, but we know these things by the Spirit.
Saints Judging the World
As I wrote earlier, this court case was just the first part of the overall prayer campaign called Entering the Millennium of Rest, which extended until November 14, 2001.
On November 8 we were led to pray that the sons of God would learn to judge righteously and not be afraid to judge. This was based on Paul’s admonition in 1 Corinthians 6:1-3,
1 Does any of you, when he has a case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints? 2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest [elachistos, “least, lowest”] law courts? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?
Obviously, we will not judge good angels, because they have done nothing that is worthy of judgment. Only angels who are our adversaries are to be judged. The court case called “Ye Shall Surely Perish” was a prime example of our right (and calling) to judge angels. God allowed us to participate in this court case so that we would learn how to judge righteously. And I have written an account of this so that many more people may learn through our experience.
The Covenant of Miracles
On November 9 the Holy Spirit counseled us to declare before the Divine Court that the ministry of miracles will be done in the earth. This was first promised under Moses after the golden calf incident. God said in Exodus 34:10,
10 Then God said, “Behold, I am going to make a covenant. Before all your people I will perform miracles which have not been produced in all the earth nor among any of the nations; and all the people among whom you live will see the working of the Lord, for it is a fearful [“awesome”] thing that I am going to perform with you.”
Many miracles have been performed in the earth, especially during Jesus’ ministry. However, this Covenant of Miracles, as Jesus defined it, has yet to be fulfilled. Jesus said in John 14:12,
12 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to the Father.
It is difficult to comprehend how we could do “greater works than these” which Jesus Himself did. Yet I am confident that when the time comes, we will understand what He meant. Our declaration before the Divine Court was made under the direction of the Holy Spirit, and it will be fulfilled whether we understand it or not.
Blindness and Deafness Removed
On November 11 we prayed and decreed that the oppressed people of the world will hear the Word. In other words, by faith we saw a time to come when men’s ears would be opened to hear and obey the word of God. In the pattern of the church in the wilderness under Moses, the eyes and ears of the people had been closed. So also has the church in the Pentecostal Age been blind and deaf. Toward the end of Israel’s wilderness journey, Moses said in Deuteronomy 29:4,
4 Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to know, nor eyes to see, nor ears to hear.
We have lived in a time of blindness, where only “those who were chosen” have been able to see (Romans 11:7). These are the ones called “a remnant according to God’s gracious choice” (Romans 11:5). These form a small minority among believers, but they are the New Covenant believers who are called to bring the blessing of Abraham to the world.
Abrahamic faith is having confidence that what God has promised, He is able to perform (Romans 4:21). But faith is also seeing what is not yet visible (Hebrews 11:1). Faith gives us biblical “hope,” which is not wishful thinking but is a confident expectation of things to come (Romans 8:24).
If we have eyes to see during an era of blindness, then we are part of a tiny remnant whose eyes have been healed by grace, that is, by a sovereign will of God. Such people are like the man born blind (John 9:1), whose eyes Jesus healed. The man was helpless to heal himself by the power of positive thinking, which many call “faith.” But it takes a sovereign act of God to heal deep-rooted blindness to truth that has covered the earth since the beginning of time.
The Climax
What we saw by the eye of faith on November 11, 2001 was a New Era in which the remnant of grace was equipped to do the greater works of God’s Covenant of Miracles.
On November 13 a solemn charge was given to the overcomers as a whole, though only a few witnessed this charge on behalf of the body as a whole. The Law of Unity is a wonderful provision in the divine order. Paul spoke of it in 1 Corinthians 12:13-27. It reads, in part,
13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many… 20 But now there are many members, but one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” … 27 Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.
By this Law, if even one “member” bears witness to the revelation of God, all who are in the same body receive the benefit, even if they were thousands of miles away or if they lived in a previous generation. So also, the warfare, court cases, and declarations that a few people accomplished by the leading of the Spirit are accomplished equally by all who make up the same body. In fact, as Paul says, the few cannot say, “I have no need of you.”
The fact is, without the rest of the body, that which was done could not have been accomplished. Every part of the body is vital.
Commissioning the Angel of Working Miracles
On November 14, 2001 God led us to commission the Angel of Working Miracles. (This angel’s ministry was “activated” a few weeks later on December 3, 2001.) This was followed by the coronation of the overcomers to rule and reign with Christ, according to Revelation 20:6.
This was the climax of “Entering the Millennium of Rest” prayer campaign.
While this was happening, Congress was also framing a bill for National Reconciliation in the wake of the psychological trauma of the Twin Towers demolition. The Senate passed the bill on November 13, and the House did the same on November 16. The bill provided for a national day of prayer for December 4, 2001.
While this was an interesting time marker, connected to events in my life 20 years earlier, the prayer was not accompanied by any serious repentance—at least not from government officials. I have no doubt that many individuals saw the Twin Towers disaster as a call for national repentance, and no doubt these individuals repented on behalf of America; however, the real day of national repentance is yet future.
My own repentance, of course, where I repented from being in a (pastoral) calling that was not mine, began on December 4, 1981, when the elders of my church demanded my resignation. Twenty years later (2001) the National Reconciliation prayer was a time marker that seemed to run parallel to my own earlier experience. Perhaps this date will yet resurface in the future when the nation as a whole is ready to repent. December 4, 2021 marks 40 years since 1981.
The prayer campaign of “Entering the Millennium of Rest” marked the end of a series of battles from February to November of 2001 that were conducted after the house of David had been fully established (November 30, 2000).
As was the case with the house of David from 1993-2000, the house of Joseph too was challenged in January 2001. But working together, both houses were empowered to overthrow the golden calves over America and ultimately to bind Satan’s power over the whole world. In the short term, the enemy gained power in the wake of the Twin Towers demolition and the so-called “Patriot Act.” But in the long run, we saw that they lost the war.
