In Daniel 4:32, 33 we read how God judged the Babylonian king for his arrogance by driving him insane. The king thought he was a beast of the field and ended up eating grass like the cattle. As the king, he represented the nation itself. This insanity lasted “seven times,” and at the end of that time, he acknowledged the sovereignty of God.
In past decades I often wondered how that might be fulfilled in our own time, since this was indeed a prophetic pattern. It is now becoming quite clear. Here is just one example of this:
The good news is that this time of insanity is not to last forever and that God’s purpose is to expose the beast-hearts of the rulers of Babylon. In the end, they will recognize the sovereignty of God and declare what Nebuchadnezzar did in Daniel 4:34, 35,
34 But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation. 35 All the inhabitants of the earth [i.e., their power and “free will”] are accounted as nothing, but He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and no one can ward off his hand or say to Him, “What have You done?”
In my view, this day will come only when the people themselves restore Jesus Christ as the King of Kings. They must reverse the Babylonian policy that was instituted under Roosevelt in the 1930’s which secularized America and violated Christ’s right to rule His creation.
The Babylonian policy did not really secularize the country. It only sought to remove Christ from government. Their hidden policy was to replace Christ with Satan, Christians with Satanists, God’s law with man’s law, and we are now seeing the fruit of this. The temporary insanity of Babylon is clearly seen today, and the solution is to recognize Jesus Christ as King and make America “one nation under God.” The true God, of course.
