Recently, Anderson Cooper did a CNN interview with the former director of the NSA, James Clapper. It seems that he got more information than he wanted, because the former director stated specifically and emphatically that it was President Obama’s idea to spy on the Trump campaign. Here is what he said:
“If it weren’t for President Obama, we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set of a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today, notably Special Council Mueller’s investigation. President Obama is responsible for that, and it was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place.”
This statement confirms the text message from Peter Strzok who also stated that this operation was being directed from the White House.
So the drama continues to unfold in Washington D.C., except that now the investigation includes people from the Obama cabinet and the former president himself. The FISA documents will eventually be released unredacted, even if only a few congressmen are actually able to view them. When that happens, whatever information is in them will reflect on Obama, and not merely Hillary Clinton, Rod Rosenstein, and Peter Strzok.
No wonder the Democrats are desperate to keep this information secret. But it’s not just the Democrats. It appears that Republican senator John McCain was the delivery boy for the fake “Steele dossier” and was in on the whole thing from the beginning. The unredacted documents are expected to prove this allegation.
Meanwhile, eleven members of the House Intelligence Committee have filed impeachment papers against Rod Rosenstein, the DOJ’s Deputy Director who is in charge of the Mueller investigation. Their claim is that Rosenstein has withheld documents and witnesses from Congress, when Congress is responsible for the oversight of the DOJ.
