To be prayed on August 23, 2017. If you are seeing this later, you can still participate by asking God to make it retroactive to the appointed time.
Main Scripture:
Deuteronomy 29:10-15
10 You stand today, all of you, before the Lord your God; your chiefs, your tribes, your elders, and your officers, even all the men of Israel, 11 your little ones, your wives, and the alien who is within your camps, from the one who chops your wood to the one who draws your water, 12 that you may enter into the covenant with the Lord your God, and into His oath which the Lord your God is making with you today, 13 in order that He may establish you today as His people and that He may be your God, just as He spoke to you and as He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. 14 Now not with you alone am I making this covenant and this oath, 15 but both with those who stand here with us today in the presence of the Lord our God and with those who are not with us here today.
Prayer to Renew the Covenant:
Father, I come before your throne of grace to appeal to Your promise that you gave to many of our fathers in the past. I pray not that You would help me to fulfill my own vows, but rather that You would fulfill Your own vow, oath, and promise. I confess that I have failed to fulfill my own promises and vows of obedience, but I thank you for taking the responsibility upon Yourself to be my God and to make me one of Your people.
I declare that I have faith in Your ability to fulfill Your promise to all of mankind.
I stand before You today to enter into the covenant with Yahweh our God and into Your oath which You made with us at the beginning of time, the oath by which you are establishing us today as Your people, and by which You are our God.
Thank you for swearing this oath with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as well as to Noah and David and to many of Your prophets. Thank you for ratifying this covenant by the blood of Jesus and for proving its power and effectiveness by His resurrection. Thank-you for sending Your Holy Spirit as a pledge for the spiritual garments that are reserved for us in heaven.
Thank you also for applying Your oath to the whole world, both with those who were standing with Moses in the plains of Moab, and with those who were not present. Thank you for being all-inclusive in applying this New Covenant, so that we too might lay hold of Your promise, though we were not present when You made these promises to the fathers in Israel.
We ask that You would protect us in the time of trouble, as Your judgment comes upon the beast system. Keep us in perfect peace within Your perfect will, for we pray this in the name of Jesus.
