It has been argued for many years that chemical fertilizers used in agriculture have no harmful effects upon humans. Now research shows that nitrates in fertilizer generate a secondary effect by making uranium soluble in groundwater. In other words, now that these nitrates have permeated the ground, the nation’s aquifers have enormous amounts of uranium in them.

Aquifers used for agriculture and drinking water in California and the Midwest of the United States contain uranium and nitrate levels up 180 times recommended levels, according to a study in the peer reviewed journal Environmental Science and Technology Letters.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The study conducted by two researchers at the University of Nebraska found nitrate from fertilizers and animal waste are triggering secondary reactions in the soil that make naturally occurring uranium soluble in groundwater….
The High Plains aquifer, the largest in the United States, and the Central Valley aquifer in California, which combined provide water for one-sixth of US agricultural output by value, have 89 times and 180 times the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) threshold levels of uranium, respectively.
The high amounts of uranium are triggered by nitrate levels from 34 to 189 higher than EPA threshold levels, the research found….
The research findings are significant as in taking high-levels of uranium has been linked to a number of diseases as food crops accumulate uranium during irrigation.
In my view, Kingdom people are stewards of God’s creation and ought to be very concerned with pollution of all kinds. Kingdom people ought to be environmentalists of the highest order. At the present time, the government does not consider chemical fertilizers to be pollutants. Hence, one has to prove scientifically (spending hundreds of millions of dollars) that these chemicals are harmful in order for them to be banned. No one but the big chemical companies has that kind of money, and they certainly are not going to do any study that might ban their own products.
The government is bought and paid for by these special interests, so they won’t do it either.
Everyone else is too poor.
The only solution is to teach the word and to instill in people a Kingdom mindset, so that individuals may switch to organic farming and stop using these harmful fertilizers, which enrich the chemical companies (and the health profession). The technology already exists (and is being used today) for organic farmers to out-produce all others, not only in quantity but more importantly in quality. When “the Kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ” (Revelation 11:15), the time will come when the “wrath” of God is poured out “to destroy those who destroy the earth” (Revelation 11:18).
