Bix Weir sent the link to this speech by Congressman Howard Buffet of Nebraska. Buffet comments on the situation back in 1948, which was 15 years after gold was taken from the people. When the people could no longer redeem paper money with gold, they lost their economic freedom.
His speech sounds amazingly up-to-date. Most of what he says might be argued in the Congress today regarding the debt crisis, taxes, and people dependent upon the government for their support, jobs, or welfare.

Rumors abound that Warren Buffett was heard sniffing around the gold markets last weekbut was denied any major physical gold purchases by those who are currently in control of the gold. Do I believe the rumors?....I'm not sure.
But I do know one thing,Warren Buffett is LYING through his teeth each and every time he talks down gold. How do I know this? I read his biography. I know what he thought of his famous US Congressman father 's ideals. Senator Howard Buffet battled his whole life to return our country to an honest gold standard and there's not a chance in hell that a son that idolized his father would talk down his life's worth for no reason. As a matter of fact...he'd do exactly the opposite! He'd BLUFF and LIE until the timing was right and then he'd make his father's dream a REALITY!
