What is the biggest source of corruption in the Afghan government? Drug money? Taliban? al qaeda? Nope. It's the the ol' US of A. So says the New York Times.
It appears that the US government told the CIA to send tens of millions of dollars to Afghanistan president Karzai.
The report has the headline: "Karzai's office gets bags full of CIA cash."
Surely bribery can't be legal. (Just kidding.) They wonder why some of us don't trust the government.
I wonder if Karzai will have to tighten his belt, now that we have a Sequester.

Handing out cash has been standard procedure for the C.I.A. in Afghanistan since the start of the war. During the 2001 invasion, agency cash bought the services of numerous warlords, including Muhammad Qasim Fahim, the current first vice president.
Don't expect an apology from the government. Look for damage control to spruce up their image. Perhaps you should stock up on perfume and cosmetics before the government buys it all for their own use.
It appears that we have the best government money can buy, and we want the Afghans to have the same. Wouldn't you prefer the Kingdom of God?
