Abad means to wander or perish. It is spelled:
Alef = ox, strength, first
Beth = house, family
Daleth = door, opening
Houses were built as places of refuge and strength. They were places of safety from the elements, from wild animals, and from hostile people.
Being lost is the result of going through the door to leave the strength and safety of the house.
Abaddon means destrruction or ruin. It is spelled:
Alef = ox, strength, first
Beth = house, family
Daleth = door, opening
Nun = fish (darting); teeming with life; living
Abad means to wander, lose oneself, perish, or be destroyed. The DN (Don, or Dan) ending means "a judge." A Judge is a "Door of Life," because the daleth is a door, and the nun is life.
Thus, Abaddon indicates a departure from the true ability to judge or discern right from wrong. This is what causes them to wander away from God's House to their own destruction or ruin.
