This gives a brief history of the huge number of bonds issued in the 1920's and 1930's, and the reason for them. This also includes many full-color pictures of these bonds and the special boxes and chests that hold the bonds.
The importance of this can hardly be overestimated. This is stuff that is now coming out into the open in the present financial war between East and West.
As for the outcome, I believe this is all a re-manifestation of the prophecy in Isaiah 45, where God promised to make the way smooth in front of King Cyrus in his takeover of the treasure storehouse of Babylon:
2 I will go before you [Cyrus] and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze, and cut through their iron bars. 3 And I will give you the treasures of hidden wealth of secret places, in order that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name [Cyrus].
The purpose of this wealth is given later in verse 13:
"I have aroused him [Cyrus] in righteousness, and I will make all his ways smooth; He will build My city, and will let My exiles go free, without any payment or reward, says the Lord of hosts."
Cyrus was called to build the old city of Jerusalem. Today, however, the Kings of the East are called to build the New Jerusalem, which is "My City" since God forsook Jerusalem "as Shiloh" (Jer. 7:12-14; Heb. 12:22).
