In regard to Palestine's bid for recognition by the UN agency, UNESCO, the above article, dated October 26, tells us:
If successful, the bid would compel the Obama administration to cut funding, because of laws passed by a Democratic-controlled Congress in the 1990s.
Public Law 101-246 (1990) states that “[n]o funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act or any other Act shall be available for the United Nations or any specialized agency thereof which accords the Palestine Liberation Organization the same standing as member states.”
Public Law 103-236 Title IV (1994) prohibits “voluntary or assessed contribution to any affiliated organization of the United Nations which grants full membership as a state to any organization or group that does not have the internationally recognized attributes of statehood.”
It sounds like the US will be obligated to cut off all funding for the United Nations if it recognizes Palestine as a sovereign state--as long as it is headed by a member of the PLO political party.
Does the term "pariah state" come to mind here? We have so often condemned other countries for "defying UN resolutions," but what about all the resolutions that the Israelis have defied? Some, but not all of these resolutions, were vetoed by the US. Our continued support of a nation that defies UN resolutions puts the US into the category (by our own definition) of a pariah state.
When we put this in the context of the coming overthrow of Mystery Babylon, it is clear that the handwriting is on the wall. The Israelis' main supporter is losing its power in the world. That, more than anything, is drawing us closer and closer to the final war in the Middle East.
