At 9:00 p.m. last night, our opposition appealed their loss to the Divine Court, on the grounds that they represent the true religion that we are to be enslaved to the Dalai Lama. Obviously, we denied that claim, and the Court agreed because we were led by the Spirit in this entire court battle from the beginning.
In praying about it, the Lord gave us three Scriptures:
1. Ezra 6:16. "And the sons of Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the rest of the exiles, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy."
2. 1 Cor. 7:22, 23. "For he who was called in the Lord while a slave, is the Lord's freedman; likewise he who was called while free, is Christ's slave. You were bought with a price; do not becomes slaves of men."
3. John 8:20. "These words He spoke in the treasury, as He taught in the temple, and no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come."
The first Scripture is the celebration of victory after their opposition was overruled by King Darius of Persia. Take note that the king had decreed that the exiles were allowed to return to the old land after their Babylonian captivity. He even ruled that the temple should be rebuilt. But the opposition arose and stopped it after they had laid the foundation for the temple.
Their appeal was able to stop the temple work for 14 years (534-521 B.C.). Then Zerubbabel came to continue the work at the instigation of Haggai and Zechariah the prophets. "Tattenai, the governor of the province beyond the River" objected (Ezra 5:6). Zerubbabel then wrote to King Darius, answering Tattenai's appeal. Darius searched the archives and found the decree of Cyrus. It said that Tattenai was to pay for the building expenses from the royal treasury (6:4).
So King Darius issued his ruling that confirmed Cyrus' decree, and so God used the Persians to pay for the work of building the second temple.
We also took note that the third verse we were given mentioned "the treasury." Since we were given all of these Scripture references to look up (without knowing ahead of time what they said), this gave us a double witness that it had to do with "the treasury."
It also confirmed an email that I received from a friend in Pennsylvania. Some of you will recognize who this is, as he has been a conference speaker for many years:
"My 10-year old, Seth, has been asking me to take him for a day trip to Washington D.C. for several months. . . and for a variety of reason I've been pushing it off, always thinking that some time in the near future will be better than the current week.
"But starting the week end of July 9-10, I started having a strong feeling that he and I should go on Friday the 15th. I didn't say anything to Seth right away, as I wasn't sure how my work schedule would play out for the week, nor whether the weather would cooperate. But as the week went on, my schedule was clear, and the weather looked like it was going to be beautiful. So I told Seth on Wednesday night that we were going to go for it on Friday the 15th.
"We went to the zoo first, and then drove into town toward the mall. We parked in a lot at 10th and G street and began a walking tour to the National Archives, the National Air and Space Museum, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, and circled back to the parking garage.
"Over the course of our walk, we noticed a lot of people with shirts on that referenced the Dalai Lama's visit. . . and it was when we were passing the TREASURY building on our way back to the parking garage that we felt compelled to pray in front of the Treasury building. Our prayer was for national repentance, for the establishment of a lawful money system, and the manifestation of the Kingdom."
It seems, then, that there is a connection between the Dalai Lama's attempt to create a spiritual portal in Washington and the Treasury. We ourselves are wanting to build the True Temple. It is the same work that Paul referenced in Ephesians 2:20-22. What was built under Zerubbabel was only a physical type and shadow, proven by the simple fact that Haggai's prophecy (2:9) did not apply to that temple. That temple was NOT greater than Solomon's temple. In fact, the old men who had seen the glory of the first temple actually "wept with a loud voice" (Ezra 3:12) because the second temple was so inferior to the first.
Hence, it is apparent that the New Testament Temple made of "living stones" is the True Temple that Christ desires to inhabit--not one built with wood and stone, regardless of its architectural beauty. We are workmen in this Temple, and it involves the commission to preach the Kingdom of God throughout the whole earth. If we are seeing the biblical types correctly, then we ought to see the Treasury fund THIS work, rather than the Dalai Lama's kingdom in its bid to establish itself as the "true religion."
Buddhism attempts to use spiritual things and false gods as a tool to establish a Buddhist theocracy on earth, with all men being the absolute slaves of the Dalai Lama, its King-Priest. We believe that Jesus Christ is the rightful Heir of all things, and that God has subjected all things under His feet. His rule is the only one that will accomplish the "world peace" that most ordinary Buddhists themselves sincerely wish to achieve. Christ's rule is the only way that the King's servants can become true freemen. Only He is the legitimate High Priest of the Order of Melchizedek, the true King-Priest.
Buddhism attempts to resolve the problem of sin and death through self-discipline and subservience to their leaders. They depend upon false gods (biblical "demons") to empower them spiritually, but only the blood of Jesus can deal with the foundational issues of sin and death. And Buddhists are no match for the power of the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ, when it comes to an actual "Elijah showdown."
So at 10:00 p.m. we went before the Divine Court and answered the appeal as follows:
"Our Heavenly Father, we come before Your Divine Court under the blood of Jesus. We thank you, Father, for accepting us and cleansing us from all sin by the blood of Jesus.
"In view of the appeal that has been made by the opposition, we answer this by saying that they are NOT the true religion, and their purpose is contrary to the decree of this Divine Court, and contrary to the will of the Judge.
"We ourselves are freemen that are servants of Jesus Christ, and as His servants, we are free. So we ask for the funding of the Kingdom and the building of the New Jerusalem, and ask that the New Temple be provided by this treasury, because we proclaim and understand and know that this treasury does indeed belong to You, the Judge, and no man.
"We recognize and accept Your will in this matter, and express our intention to utilize all of this money for the work of Your Kingdom to set all creation free into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
"We thank You, Father, for hearing this and answering and rendering a just verdict on this in Jesus' Name. Amen and Amen."
Our case was won. We now await the results in the world.
I have more to write about this next time, because it is needful for you to know about the three angels who took the lead in this particular case. They are mentioned in Scripture, but are not named.
