Chapter 9

1990-1993: A New Prayer Army

After moving from Memphis, my new job in Leachville, Arkansas lasted just ten months. During this time, I gave up all hope of ever being called back into ministry work. I had failed as a pastor in 1981, and I had even seemed to fail as an intercessor in 1989. In both cases I was told that God was finished with me, and I thought perhaps they were right.

At that point I could only tell God, “If you ever want me, you know where you can reach me.” I had reached the place where I knew I was an “unprofitable servant” (Luke 17:10). I knew God did not really need me—or anyone else for that matter. He could call any old jackass and accomplish His work with ease.

During most of 1990, I did not make any attempt to hear the voice of God. I worked an average of 80 hours a week managing a Graphic Arts department for Redbook Florists. Putting my mind on secular matters allowed me to heal and re-stabilize. Then on August 25, 1990 God suddenly broke the silence and said to me:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you as a precious possession from a pawn shop, as land that has been sold for debt, as a son who has been lost to slave traders. Follow Me, for I have redeemed you from bondage to this world.”

My work was “bondage to this world.” So I suspected from this that God was going to cause me to lose my job. I trained the typesetters fully, and I organized the department so they could carry on without me.

When I had started the job, there were mountains of work to be done. Everything was months behind schedule. We finally caught up completely the evening of Sept. 27, 1990. That evening I was fired—but, of course, they said they would be happy to give me a good recommendation! And I would be paid through the week ending Friday, Sept. 29 (the Day of Atonement).

Thus, I was redeemed on the Day of Atonement, which God turned into a Jubilee for me. That was the last secular job I worked. That same week I had the revelation of the difference between barley, wheat, and grapes and began to write the book, Creation's Jubilee. The book was completed in March 1991, and God miraculously provided the funding to put it into print.

Then immediately, I was strongly led to California to visit Lalo Cadona for a full week in April 1991 in order to learn all that I could about his revelation of timing. I returned home in late April and began to search the library at Arkansas State University to see if his chronology could be verified by actual historical fact. I found that I had to make a few changes, but his basic teaching about Cursed Time, Judged Time, and Blessed Time were all validated by the evidence of history. God led me to just the right sequence of history books so that within just six weeks I found all the firm and well-established historical facts needed to prove the chronology of history beyond any doubt (in my mind).

When I finished that study, the Lord gave me a Word which began to change the course of my entire life and ministry. . . .

Establishing an Army of Devoted Ones

On May 28, 1991 God awoke me with a Word: “Study the laws of devotion.” I did so that morning and learned that anything “devoted” to God was His and could not be reclaimed by man or be redeemed by the previous owner. I did take note, however, that in Micah 7:2 the Hebrew word haram is translated “net,” whereas it is usually translated “devotion.” It has a double meaning:

1 Woe is me! For I am like the fruit pickers and the grape gatherers. There is not a cluster of grapes to eat, or a first-ripe fig which I crave. 2 The godly person has perished from the land, and there is no upright person among men. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; each of them hunts the other with a NET [haram].

I was not given understanding of this, so I stopped the study. I was scheduled to drive to Batesville for a meeting that evening, so around noon I started my 2-hour journey. As I came near the town of Jonesboro, the Lord said, “Stop at Shoney’s [restaurant]; I want to show you something.

After ordering lunch, I said, “Ok, Father, what’s on your mind?” He then said,

“I am calling you to establish the new Net of Prayer. This is My called-out ones, My devoted ones who shall drag My net of devotion and gather up My people into one body, My Kingdom. These shall bring righteous-ness to the earth and bear witness to My Kingdom wherever they go. United, they shall exercise the power of My authority more than any have done since the beginning. Drag the net over the earth to receive My elect ones. The clean ones shall you gather in; the unclean you shall decide what to do with, for My discernment shall be given you to know.”

At that moment I finally understood what God meant by the Word in July 1986 when He told me, “Call the new Net of Prayer to prayer.” (See Chapter One.) It was the body of Overcomers or Elect, who had been “devoted” or specially dedicated to God. See Lev. 27:21, 28, 29. Jesus referred to devoted ones in John 10:28, 29, saying that no one can pluck them out of His hand.

That evening, May 28, 1991, we met in Batesville to “establish” the new Net of Prayer. We did not know what this meant, but we knew what to do.

I then began traveling and teaching these things for the next two years and ultimately put these things into a book entitled, Secrets of Time in Prophecy. (In 1996 this book was completely revised and expanded, and it was given a new but shortened title, Secrets of Time.)

I spent the next two years (1991-1993) laying foundations for the spiritual warfare that lay ahead. It was also a time of meeting and training people whom God had called into His prayer army. The years that I spent in the NOP and even the many mistakes that we all made in the 1980's would now prove to be useful in training this prayer army. Very few people were experienced in this type of warfare. But God requires only a willing heart and the ability to follow His instructions and learn as we go.

The Prayer Army Activated

Two years later, on Pentecost Sunday, May 30, 1993, the new Net of Prayer was ACTIVATED. On that day the Pentecostal Age ended after 40 Jubilees of Church history dating back to the day of Pentecost in Acts 2. With the death of the “Saul” Church, the authority in the Kingdom of God began to be transferred to the Davidic company. This authority was not to be given all at once, but enough was given to conduct the Jubilee Prayer Campaign.

In the biblical pattern, David was made king only over the single tribe of Judah for 7 years and 6 months (2 Samuel 5:3-5). He ruled from the city of Hebron, while Saul's son, Ishbosheth, ruled over the other tribes for two years. Ishbosheth was then assassinated, and for the next five years had no king at all. During that time, David made no attempt to conquer the other tribes, even though he knew from Samuel's revelation that God had called him to be king over all the tribes of Israel. Yet he waited for God to work in the hearts of the people and for the appointed time in the plan of God.

Toward the end of that time, representatives of ALL the tribes of Israel came and crowned David King over ALL Israel. David then immediately conquered the city of Jebus, which was peopled by Canaanites. David then established his new capital there, calling the name of that city by its original name, Salem, which Melchizedek had given to it many centuries earlier. David thus ruled in Hebron 7 years and 6 months, and then in Jerusalem (i.e. “City of Salem”) for the next 33 years.

We understood from the beginning that this biblical pattern would be applied to the new Davidic company (the overcomers) after the Pentecostal Age had been completed. We also understood that we would not be given the full authority of the Tabernacles Age until November 30, 2000, for this was 7 years and 6 months after May 30, 1993.

I have not mentioned the “New Net of Prayer” in public writings until now, because I do not want anyone to try to “sign up” or to “join” it. This is NOT an earthly organization that one can join. To me it is synonymous with the overcomers and “the devoted ones.” Those wanting to join His army must talk to God about it. I have no choice over who is and who is not an overcomer. I am merely called to help cast the net out and help gather the fish. I am NOT called to gather people into my own organization or mailing list. God’s Kingdom Ministries is merely a tool by which we send out teaching materials that (hopefully) will draw people closer to God by sharing some of the things God has shown me. We keep people informed of the revelation as it unfolds before us, but one cannot join God's army by getting on our mailing list.

New Testament “Nets”

The numeric value of “the net” in the Greek text is 153 x 8. The same is true for the word “fish” in Greek. Also, “fishers of men” has a numeric value of 153 x 14. The number 153 means “the sons of God,” and 14 is the number of “release.” Therefore, it is apparent that being “fishers of men” have to do with “releasing the sons of God.”

For this reason, God revealed the new Net of Prayer in terms of catching fish. They are God’s elect remnant, which, when caught in God’s net, is not bringing them into captivity or bondage but releases them from the bondage of going their own way.

In Luke 5:1-11 we read how Jesus got into Peter’s boat and pushed offshore a bit in order to teach the people. Afterward, he told Peter to let down their nets into the water. He did this and caught a multitude of fish. The catch was so great that the net broke and even the boat began to sink:

6 And when they had done this, they enclosed a great quantity of fish; and their nets began to break; 7 and they signaled to their partners in the other boat, for them to come and help them. And they came, and filled both of the boats, so that they began to sink.

The next time Jesus told them to do this was after his resurrection. See John 21:11,

11 Simon Peter went up and drew the net to land, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty three; and although there were so many, the net was not torn.

This time it says they caught 153 large (mature) fish, “and for all there were so many, yet was NOT the net broken.

The first net was broken; the second was strong enough to hold the elect. The first time the Net of Prayer was cast into the water, it was in the Pentecostal Age (1981). The Church was unable to bear the new teachings of Jesus regarding the feast of Tabernacles.

The divine plan thus required a second Net to be cast into the waters of multitudes of people (Rev. 17:15). In this net only the large (mature) fish are retained. On June 12, 1991 I prayed for further revelation about this new Net of Prayer. God said this:

“Even as I have sent My disciples out to fish for men, so have I sent you. Gather in My elect, that I may have meat in due season and bread for My table. These I shall break with My hands, that they may be food for My body, the Church, and the poor of the land who look to Me for food.

“The bread of My table is My broken ones, those who have died to the flesh and the normal desires of life. They are the loaves from the table of showbread, which are given to feed the company of David.

When Jesus fed the multitude, He did so with barley bread, not wheat (John 6:9). He broke the bread before giving it to the disciples, and the disciples in turn broke the bread again as they dispensed it to the multitudes (Matt. 14:19). Jesus’ body was broken on the Cross. It was done at His own will (John 10:18). Jesus expects all of His barley company to do the same. When they reach the point where they are able to willingly lay down their lives and be broken, then they too will feed the multitude. Their food (teachings) will no longer come from books and head knowledge, but from their innermost being and experience.

These are also identified with the bread on the table of showbread. The word “showbread” in Hebrew is literally, “face bread” or “bread of presence.” The Hebrew word panah means Face or Presence. Lev. 24:7 says that frankincense was to be put upon this bread. Frankincense was also to be put upon every meal offering (Lev. 2:1). It signified the divine presence, or face.

For this reason, it represents the feast of Tabernacles as well, for it is in this feast that we come face to face with the presence of God in the Holy of Holies. Frankincense in Hebrew is lebanaw, from the root word laban, which means “white.” Jesus manifested the frankincense in His transfiguration, when “His face shone as the sun, and His garments became as white as light” (Matt. 17:2). Jesus was the holy bread of the temple that would feed the multitudes. As the frankincense was poured upon Him, His face manifested the divine presence of which we too are partakers in Tabernacles.

Anything less is just bread. Pentecost’s bread was only wheat baked with leaven (Lev. 23:17) and therefore unacceptable to God by law (Lev. 2:11). The only thing that made this offering acceptable was that it was baked in the fire. This stopped the leavening action. So also, we as Pentecostals are acceptable offerings to God only if we submit to the baptism of fire.

Preparing for Spiritual Warfare

The “New Net of Prayer” (as the Lord called it) was established in prayer agreement May 28, 1991. Two years and two days later, May 30, 1993, we reached the end of the 40 Jubilees during which time the Church under Pentecost had the authority to establish the Kingdom of God in the earth. Time has proven that the anointing of this Church was as legitimate as that of King Saul, but it was also temporary. Their authority began to come to an end on their 40th Jubilee.

Shortly after this, God began to speak to me about the new Net of Prayer mobilizing for spiritual warfare. The Lord told us that it would be a seven-year warfare that would begin Nov. 21-29, 1993 and end seven years later on Nov. 29, 2000. The purpose of this chapter is to show the background to this series of prayer campaigns and the significance of the timing of the first campaign.

My last secular job ended on Sept. 29, 1990 when God “redeemed” me on the Day of Atonement. While in prayer about six weeks later on Nov. 8, God spoke to me again. I had asked Him what was to be done in order to obtain the full inheritance that He had for us. His answer was that it would be obtained by spiritual warfare and then added, “I will direct the battle.

The following day, as I prayed further about this, I was given Zechariah 2, the vision of the surveyor of Jerusalem. To this He added the following revelation:

Survey your promise, your Jerusalem. Weigh carefully if you really want to inherit it. For I will move upon you to do many . . . wondrous things, but in each there is a price to pay. Shall all your flesh burn, that you may inherit your promise fully?” (Nov. 9, 1990)

I asked for confirmation of this Word, and He gave me Daniel 1:5, which speaks of the prophet’s three-year training before entering into the king’s service. In my notes on that day, I noted:

“It appears from this that I am to receive another three years of training.”

Well, after nine years of wilderness training (since 1981), another three years did not seem so long. Besides, I was beginning to like the wilderness and the solitude with God. It no longer mattered to me if God wanted me to return to the public ministry. I rather enjoyed being hidden.

In fact, as early as June of 1982—shortly after I first went into hiding—He told me that I was going to be “as Joseph” who had been in bondage and the prison in Egypt for twelve years before God finally raised him up again. Since my time of being brought low actually began Nov. 12, 1981, my twelve years would be completed on November 12, 1993.

And so, the Word I received in November of 1990 about receiving three more years of training matched the old Word from 1982. Both Words pointed to November 1993 as being significant in God’s leadings in my life. I received another revelation nearly a year later on Sept. 24, 1991, when God said to me,

“This shall be the conflict in 1993 leading up to the fall of Herod’s Temple, and the feet of clay shall be crushed by the Stone Kingdom operating in My people. I will bruise the head of Satan under your feet.”

This seemed to indicate plainly that God would call us into spiritual warfare in 1993. It was related to King Herod’s Temple, as well as to the Image of Babylon mentioned in Daniel 2. This was a major clue as to why this battle was to be fought in 1993, for though I was unaware of it at the time, 1993 was 46 years after the United Nations passed the Palestinian Resolution in 1947.

In fact, this Resolution was debated from Nov. 21-29, 1947 and passed on the 29th. When the Lord connected this to “the fall of Herod’s Temple,” it implied a 46-year period from 1947-1993. John 2:20 tells us that it took 46 years to build Herod’s Temple. In other words, the Zionist “temple,” representing their efforts to build their Jewish State, was a 46-year allotment, after which time, God was going to raise up a spiritual army to tear it down and build the true Kingdom of God and a New Jerusalem.

Yet in 1991, when the above revelation was given, I did not yet realize that the Palestinian Resolution had been passed on Nov. 29, 1947. So these early revelations were important pieces of the revelation, but they remained unclear until 1993.

God finally showed me the details in July of 1993, shortly after the end of the Pentecostal Church Age. The warfare was to be called the Jubilee Prayer Campaign, and it was to be held Nov. 21-29, 1993. I was to move from Arkansas to Washington state for this campaign. This was to begin a seven-year period wherein the Stone Kingdom of Daniel 2:35 would strike the Babylonian Image on its feet and undermine its foundations until its collapse.

Conclusion

When the new Net of Prayer was first led into spiritual warfare in November of 1993, I was quite surprised at how easily the battle was won. In fact, it could hardly be called warfare. Many people remarked that it was more like a victory celebration.

It has been this way ever since the first battle. I soon came to realize that the struggles of the first Net of Prayer were entirely due to the fact that Saul was still very much alive and opposing the very people who were doing the work that Saul should have been doing! It made the battles difficult and always left them with an incomplete victory. As we explained earlier, the NOP always won the battles that God led them to fight, but they always lost the war because of “Church decision.”

But our battles since 1993 have been more like court battles, where we walk into court knowing our rights and the law, having the best attorney available (the Holy Spirit, the Advocate). It’s a bit like spearing fish in a barrel. We showed up on the day of battle primarily to win the Court case and to declare victory.

BUT we must know when the Judge has scheduled the court date. This is known only by hearing God’s voice. Not everyone needs to know, of course, but the one called to file the petitions in the divine court must know when the court will hear their case. That comes when one has a revelation of timing.
